It was a necessary gamble. Somewhere in January, the board realized that another CL humiliation was looming. We weren't looking that sharp in la liga either. They tried to shake things up mainly to avoid another European disaster. Ultimately, QS couldn't get the amigos on board with his plans...

Correct. This board is too soft, and the players, they know that too. Barto and his team have contributed the most to the mess that the club is in.

    Antoine Griezmann

Out for the remainder of the season.

    Gabriel Jesus

IMO i would say Lautaro does better as a second striker. He started playing really well when Lukaku joined Inter. He's better when playing just off a main striker. I don't see him as a pure 9 at all. Gabi Jesus is closer to a 9 despite not having the physical attribute of a traditional one.

    Antoine Griezmann

Glad that he's doing well but still not the best fit for us long term, especially with Messi in the picture. We could get a nice sum for him when the windows opens.

    Mavericky Puig

He reminds of a young David Silva, in his Valencia days. Same height, same play style. I think he will be really good as he matures physically and technically.

    Quique Setien

Setien confirming what everyone else knows. He's powerless.

    Josep Maria Bartomeu

He never had a proper long term plan. Also his choices of sporting directors have been horrible.

    Quique Setien

Correct. If you followed Lucho's career, the guy wasn't a punk at all. The dude always kept it real. He kept that edge even as coach.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Not many clubs would be willing or able to afford his wages. Only the oil backed clubs come to mind.

    Quique Setien

He's been a failure. He was brought in to 'improve things'. Clearly hasn't done that. He hasn't been able to get the amigos on board either. But he shouldn't take most of the heat imo. The only constant in this entire charade is the Old Guard. Back to Back CL meltdowns, Copa final loss, bad...

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. The old core is done and dusted. The cycle is finished for these seniors. That's the lesson learned from last season. I can't see how anyone realistically expected different results this...

This club lacks proper leadership on and off the field. In the board room, in the locker room, on the field, It's a shit show all around. Don't be surprised if we capitulate from here just like we fell apart at the end of last season. Another Liverpool style spanking in the CL is possible...

He does. But why shouldn't Sarabria speak to them?. Rijkaard had Ten Cate, Pep had Tito, Luncho had Unzue.

If there's one thing Anfield taught us is that the veterans are DONE. They simply can't cut it at that level anymore. I thought the Liverpool game humbled them but it seems some of them are more arrogant than ever. They can't be reasoned with and openly scoff at instructions. That clip...

    Quique Setien

The issue here extends far beyond Setien and Sarabria. I've said repeatedly before that the amigos clan needs to be broken up at all costs. Some of the senior players have gained too much power within the dressing room and to a toxic extent. Even if the club brings in a Ten Hag or a...

    Quique Setien

Xavi was smart enough to turn down the job at the time. He himself knows that the only way forward is to clean house, starting with some of these entitled seniors. The current atmosphere in the dressing room is too toxic for a new manager to deal with. Alot of the players carry about...

    Quique Setien

The senior players don't even have respect for Sarabia. It's sad.

Shameless stuff from club de amigos. Neither Ten Hag or Nagelsmann would be able to work with these arrogant clowns.

    Miralem Pjanic

"People are too obsessed with age on our forum" Fascinating logic. Might aswell buy only 30 year old players since 'experience' trumps everything else.
