Agree. He doesn't have theinstincts of a natural defensive MF. He left his defence too exposed late in the game, when he should have been protecting them. He was not alone tbf though. He does a good job there, but he doesn't have that "Thou shall not pass" mentality.

It was only a matter of time before their poor defensive would catch up with them. You can't keep relying on outscoring your opponents like they have been.

He's certainly not a good defender. Again, much like our Full-Backs, he's good at going forward but not good at protecting his goal.

If Liverpool blow a THREE goal lead to Palace, then they don't deserve to win the EPL.

If you are asking: Is Montoya better at attacking or defending? Then it has to be the former. I'm not saying Montoya is a terrible defender. He's just not the high quality we desperately need to do the required job there.
