Doubt he would start for any other top club. The fact that he doesn't have much caps for Spain says alot, but yet he is still one of the highest paid Spanish players at present.. The RB spot has been a difficult one ever since Alves left and to his credit he has been able to slot in there...
They are due for an overhaul. Kroos, Marcelo, Benzema, Ramos, Modric, all heading to mid thirties. I'm still amazed how fit Modric is tbh. Even at 35 he is more mobile than Busquets and Rakitic.
Reminder that Alaba is in the last year of contract and still hasn't signed an extension. He's 28, in excellent physical shape and can play multiple positions. Would be a massive upgrade over Alba.
Busquets, Alba, Pique and even Messi could leave next summer so that would complete the clearout. Also everything depends on the new board. If Font wins its likely they all stay. The guy worships Messi and would probably allow the rest to leave on their terms.
What i meant is there are no teams actively following him, like in Pedri or Fati's case. Teams usually show interest in players regardless of their transfer status.
Might be more you never know.
I think he will be motivated to prove a point that we were wrong to let him go plus he will get in shape under Simeone training.
End of the day getting him off the books is a move in the right direction.
Messi wants to play centrally, so the 4-2-3-1 makes sense for him and everyone else. Besides, he doesn't have the speed to play out wide in a 4-3-3 anymore. So either 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 with him behind another striker. In any event he will always drift to the center. France also used mostly...
James plays his best footall as a #10 or CAM. Same with Isco. iirc Zidane's preference has mostly been to use a 4-3-3 which means there's little room for either of them. They don't play that well in a 3 man midfield or on the wings.
