I have to disagree with that. Pique is obviously our most important defender. He's the only one who helps stabilise and organise the defence. Araujo is a crack but even he is better with Pique due to his weak positioning.
Honeymoon period which isn't all about players' quality.
Imo overreacting. Sure we're not City or Pool but wins against Cadiz wouldn't be masking the squad's level.
If they push them out, they have to replace them. My fav example which shows just how good we are at it is the RB spot.
Our best attempt at filling the void caused by Alves' departure in 2016 was bringing Alves back 6 seasons later.
Stunning.
Squad not good enough to win the match on individual quality but the way the team played recently has been a way bigger issue.
We are figured out and not adapting.
Frankfurt and Cadiz are mostly on Xavi. The real loss would be not learning from it and adapting.
We can discuss if the squad's got quality to compete with Real or in the CL but the lack of quality shouldn't be the conclusion drawn from our recent defeats.
That was terrible. Forcing both players into roles they're not comfortable with while they would look way better with Ferran cutting inside and Alba providing width.
What was even the point? To have symmetric setup?
Going into the match with Luuk and Auba on the bench knowing full well Cadiz will park the bus made no sense.
Only two chances came after those guys were subbed in.
His lack of experience showing.
