i think experience is important. they need to consistently make the top four and actually try and win the bpl first before making a proper cl challenge, develop that winning mentality together. in general a team that wins the cl has a squad full of players with european experience together and...

imo united need two centre backs, maybe a left back if shaw doesn't work out. the midfield is ok, but not great. rooney also needs a supporting striker. schweinsteiger and carrick could decline at any moment aswell.

they won't win in the next couple of seasons, maybe they'll have a challenging squad in 3 or 4 years, these things take time.
