    Lionel Messi - v7

How do we win with keeping an unhappy Messi for another year? The only person who wins from this is Bartomeu.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Huh? He's put in a transfer request and missed training. How much more evidence do you need?

    Lionel Messi - v7

There's 4 options: 1) He'll stay for more 1 year, even though he won't be happy about it. 2) He'll try take this further to the courts and see if they can get him out his clause 3) He'll actually try and arrange a meeting with Bartomeu and plead his case of why he should leave. He'll try end...

    Lionel Messi - v7

This is just a shitshow at this point. Messi has to come out and publicly state what he wants to do at this point. I know he sent in that fax 9 days ago, but we need to move on from this. If he still wants to leave, then maybe we can negotiate further. I don't know at this point.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Apparently the quote of Messi's father saying yes has been misquoted. Apparently he said he doesn't know what will happen.

    Lionel Messi - v7

You always take that risk with signing a player for a big fee regardless of their age and who it is. But it's Messi.... it's worth the gamble. He'd generate a lot of money from shirt sales alone. Not to mention, the attraction to play alongside Messi is appealing for other top players.

    Lionel Messi - v7

The FFP has been relaxed due to COVID, so City could still afford to sign him if they chose to. I'd imagine City is seeing how this all plays out. If Messi still decides he wants to leave, City may put a bid for him.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Don't agree. I feel he'll have no motivation next year. He's clearly being forced to stay.... and I doubt Koeman will put up with Messi who will sulk. I can honestly see Messi getting bench next season if we're doing badly.

    Lionel Messi - v7

It's going to happen. Imagine if we start the season terribly and get knocked out of the Champions League early.

    Lionel Messi - v7

It honestly doesn't make any sense. We're going to have Messi who won't be happy, and he'll be unmotivated next season. He'll no doubt fall out with Koeman.... and our squad simply isn't good enough, and we have no money to improve it.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Rumours coming out that Messi might stay till next year. I have no clue how that helps us at all. It just makes Bartomeu look like the hero.... and I don't want that piece of shit getting any type of praise. We still have no money to spend. Our defense is still shit. Griezmann isn't the...

    Lionel Messi - v7

Not the same thing. Neymar didn't put in a transfer request and didn't miss every single day of training. And he didn't have just 1 year left on his contract.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Why the hell would he care at this point? He's already fucked the club in any case.

    Lionel Messi - v7

It's clearly Bartomeu leaking it. Who else could it be? He's trying his best to make it look like he's the good guy and Messi is the bad guy.

    Lionel Messi - v7

And yet Messi will still not turn up for training. What is the point of offering a new contract when he knows he's going to refuse?

    Lionel Messi - v7

Or they'll take it to the courts. But most likely they'll reach an agreement on a set fee with Man City, which suits all parties.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Bartomeu is acting desperate and pathetic here.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Nobody is asking Messi to leave on a free. We're simply saying Bartomeu should negotiate.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Our midfield would have improved, but we have big problems in other areas. We would still have a shit defense. We can't rely on a young kid for our attack. Dembele will probably get injured. We would still need a world-class striker.... and Lautaro isn't the answer, especially at 100m plus.

We can't afford to give him a salary increase. Besides, an extra 200,000 a week isn't going to do anything for Messi, especially when he's already on 1m a week. He's got far too money.
