    Champions League 2024-25

    It’s gonna be Brest.

Oh, no. It’s over for him.

    Handball World Championship (Men)

I usually only watch big tournaments and some club games, but it never ceases to amaze me how much refereeing can influence this sport. Tonight, it felt like France benefited from a much softer criteria than Egypt. Some of Egypt’s disallowed goals likely would have stood if they were scored by...

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

Why do I even open this thread :benitez:

    8 - Pedri

    Yes.

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

Proving points is for cheap players. Not one of the best paid players in the team. Rather see him leave for a small fee in the summer than in the stands for a season.

    17 - Marc Casadó

De Jong staying or leaving doesn’t affect that, but there are other priorities this summer.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

This weak Madrid side is averaging more points than Xavi’s title winning team btw.

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

To what he currently enjoys, minus deferred wages.

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

So anyone ready to send an offer and give de Jong comparable, apparently reasonable wages?

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

Handing out superstar level salaries to backups is one of the reasons we ended up in this mess. Would be crazy to repeat it.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

What is it that you want exactly?

    21 - Frenkie de Jong

It’s not him or Casado, they’ll look best together. No other midfielder to form a duo with Frenkie on high enough level. That’s only with Pedri out. He’ll see lots of minutes if he keeps it up.

    7 - Ferran Torres

He’s a backup. We need a player in rotation with Lamine and Raphi. Different quality category altogether.
  15. Joan

    25 - Wojciech Szczęsny

Both cause anxiety at the back, albeit for different reasons.

    7 - Ferran Torres

Scored one. He’s got potential as a player, most of the tools are there yet he fails to step up. It’s a shame. Could and should have a much more significant role in the squad.

    24 - Eric García

Great on the ball but many mistakes. Saved by the flag.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

No one serious expects him to give it up. Going out on a loan while Barca covers a good chunk of his wages is an option too. Probably the best one we can hope for.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

Don’t like him going solo all the time, he’s pushing it and more often than not end ups losing possession. Comes with age, I suppose.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

Refuses to get the memo
