    Champions League

    09, 11 and 15 Barca, Madrid 17, Bayern 13, Inter 10 all beat them

    Champions League

Comparing Arnold to prime Alves is blasphemy and prime Pique is better than van Dijk

    Champions League

They don’t. You massively overrate them. Even some of the runners up from previous years would beat them

    Champions League

Jovic up against Fernandinho is a mismatch and would allow Madrid to play a crossing game Isco contributes fuck all

    Champions League

Madrid can actually press the football, unlike our team

    Champions League

Madrid would do well to ditch Isco and bring in Jovic

Carvajal is a weak link in their team

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

The prime Pep team with Xavi, Iniesta, Alves etc didn’t do well in CL away games with the classic Barca style. What hope do the current crop of losers have trying to play the same way?

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

Playing a classic Barca style in those matches would have led to similar, if not worse results. The main issue in recent times is the players who have lost motivation and physical abilities

If rather de Jong as the pivot, it’s time to look forward

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

Busquets is arguably a bigger issue than Rakitic in these games. Rakitic at least has SOME left in the tank physically

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

Busquets is playing and he has no business in this type of match in his current state. Vidal and Rakitic are physical players but past their physical prime, they will be outmatched by Napoli’s midfield tonight . The team needs physical midfielders in their prime for this type of game but doesn’t...

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

The thing is Busquets isn’t physical at all and Rakitic/Vidal are washed up. Ideally I’d have de Jong as pivot as he can at least run and the team would have some younger “workhorses” in their physical prime to play in this type of match

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

We’ve seen this movie before. You can predict fairly well that Barca will put in a crap away performance, especially with these players Rakitic isn’t suddenly going to be good now that setien is coach

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

And I criticised the decision to play roberto ahead of paulinho prior to that game, an unpragmatic move

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

I’m not arguing with that, but I did praise EV when he did display those qualities

CL | 1/8 Final: FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli 4-2 (agg.)

I like pragmatism and liked valverde to the extent that he practiced that philosophy, when he deviated from it I criticised him (not playing paulinho vs Roma, not playing semedo vs Liverpool etc) The ide of the “EV cult” is an exaggeration in the same way you are categorised as a pepista (some...

Still loving setien fellas? I’m not convinced he’s the answer, just valverde with a more naive style

    Martin Braithwaite

I was wrong, this guy is more Paulinho than he is KPB

    Martin Braithwaite

I understand the point you’re getting at, but I doubt Braithwaite is any good. This is another Prince situation. When Madrid made similar transfers they brought in adebayor and chicharito, who did a job for them. Prince and this Braithwaite guy are just not good enough.
