For me poor finishing is when he misses clear scoring opportunities. The scene above was too far away from goal for that. It was stupid to try to shoot from there, he could have tried to dribble and wait for support, or try to beat the defender.

That is more of an example of him being hectic and maybe overly motivated in the first half, not poor finishing.
