    Eric Abidal

Summer 2012, as far as I know. I also remember Abidal stating that he would like to retire at Barça, hence he just might see his contact through and retire next summer, if he won't renew. Fontás is not an LB and never will be one. Whereas Muniesa's development has been stalled by series of...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Creepy, eh? Now THIS is creepy.

    Pep Guardiola

Great piece, Mike! Pep definitely is the knowledgeable one.

    Sergi Samper

Ha! This explains why those Scottish lads came across as sporting additional physique and looked older in general. Good to see talent prevail over brawn.

    Sergi Samper

Showed some extremely great and smooth skill tonight. He might become such a player!

Grimaldo afaik, and a few others.

    NextGen Series (U19)

Such a sweet sweet pass by Dongou leading to the first goal!

    NextGen Series (U19)

Brian Olivan had a good shot on goal, but went just a bit wide off the mark.

    Thiago Translantara

That was my point exactly. He is a tidy mixture of all the three.

    Thiago Translantara

The boy has some serious swagger, and he does add a bit of something to our midfield given the fact that he always dares to go for something "unthinkable" or difficult. And like lady Z said, that part of him giving away balls could possibly remain for an overly long time. Yet, the volume of...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

It's not like were talking about of having him turn into a top DM, though. I was merely speculating on the topic of him functioning as a back-up for Busquets (god forbid) if both him and Mascherano were out at the same time. Our system showed last night that in a 3-4-3 or a more dynamic 3-1-3-3...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Well, as we saw today he can actually function as one in the 3-1-3-3 or 3-4-3 system, as there is enough coverage.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Given Sergi Gomez keeps on improving the way he has so far, I really don't see any reason for him not to take over from Badger when needed. There are loads of CB's like Fontás, Bartra and Muniesa but none of them have the same potential as Gomez does. Bartra is talented, no question there...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

It certainly looks that way. Although, I think it might only be a short-term solution. And btw, what comes to the DM position - I do believe that with good coaching and discipline Keita MIGHT do the trick as a back-up DM. Yet, this seems only a short-term solution too.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

He never ceases to amaze me. Such a commanding presence at the back, that he's really making the CB spot his own.

    Seydou Keita

Indeed. This is what I noticed the most. With three other midfielders he seems less erratic to quite a large extent.

    Seydou Keita

He seemed composed and confident in his role as a DM. Kept things simple when needed and his contribution was decent in general. Good to see him making up for his last peformance in that position.

Continues on the path of demolition. Sweet lord.

    1 - Victor Valdes

Great effort on that Rossi's attempt and then saving that one off the line. Even though it did look that Rossi was offside.
