Everyone in Barcelona has shut down any comparison between Yamal and Messi and immediately state that Messi is on another level and should be left out of any conversation.
But here we have ex English players comparing Max fucking Dowman to Messi, after he achieved the amazing feat of scoring his first goal in the English Pub League against the mighty Everton.
And apparently if anyone highlights the absurdity of this, they are accused of being Anti English and underrating the poor beleaguered English footballer because he is not Spanish or Argentinian.
Even more hilarious is the fact that we have been here before a few months ago, with a remarkably similar style of footballer, from the same club, in Nwaneri who was meant to be taking over the world by now, instead of getting splinters in his arse sitting on the bench at Marseille.
They never learn.

What players in the last 10 years?
Can guarantee you that average La Masia talents get more hyped in media and BArca fans than likes of Dowman or those coming through in England.
Dowman looks unreal. Best 16 year old seen along with Yamal.
Doesnt mean he will be better or not as good but the prtential is unreal.
Of course they will be a ton of hype for a player like him in any league.
Barca media and fans already hyping up Tunkara who is more or less same age and barely played past youth team football.

Who hypes Tunkara? People outside Barça don't even know about him
I have said that Dowman is an incredible talent but whatever he is, some 50℅ will be added to it by their media

Likes of Tunkara has stories about him in media when barely more than a youth player.
Fucking Puig was so hyped Barca fans were convinced he was a next top talent... Laporta, media and fans all fed into that.
Barca and media overhype a lot of young players constantly and whole of Spain would if Downan was in La Liga.

Yeah, I commented on him last year - easily the most skilled & exciting technical player I have seen come out of England...ever
He's unlike the prototypical English player and clearly a product of Spanish influence that is also part & parcel of Arsenal's DNA make over under Wenger the last couple of decades as they adapted Barça's approach. There are always talents and then there are young talents who do not seem influenced by moment or opponent and you don't see that in English youth. Max is an anomaly but definitely a genuine gem

Just to make this more difficult for me, I will limit my choice of English players who were way overhyped prematurely to English players from Arsenal, who play in the same position as Dowman. With almost the exact same playstyle as Dowman and the same strong foot. ( Left.) And that player is Ethan Nwaneri.
I remember, when he scored his first goal at Notts Forest around 18 months ago and generally ran the game, the hype was exactly the same as it is now for Dowman. He was only a year older at 17 as well. Some of the comments from his thread here , which is not even a page long :
" He's called The Truth for a reason ".
" Saw an X post comparing him to Yamal. "
" Generational Talent. The present and future of Arsenal and England. The best youngster in the Premier League. "
This season he has one goal and one assist in 12 games and can't get in the Marseille team, under two different managers.
