Flick clearly had a plan to fit both him and Raphinha in. We wouldn't be suffering Ferran Torres
We would also have threat coming from both flanks. In a few games where Cancelo was at his best we have seen just how incredible team looks offensively when we don't rely exclusively on Yamal
A dribbler LW would make Balde perform better. So so many things. Diaz is a workhorse on top of all this

Is Kane wasting his talent playing in Bundesliga too? Or Olise? How about Kimmich and Neuer, Muller, Robben, Ribery, Lahm, Lewa etc?
Someone has to play for Bayern. And inevitably it will be top players who could just as easily do well in PL and La Liga (and gain more respect into the bargain).

You’re acting like there are tons of wingers of Diaz’s level available for 80M. There really aren’t.

He went for 70M and Barca wasn't willing to go above 60M for him.
Was it a mistake if we thought Diaz for 60M is a good deal?

And you are acting as if we could afford 70M+ on Diaz or another winger, last summer.
I am arguing that we shouldn't go for Diaz when our priority last summer should have been a Starter CB, backup LB.
Joan + Rashy is what we could afford last summer, maybe a cheap LB, but its a maybe. You need to jog your memories to recall the hoops we had to go through to just register the two of them.

I think if we could truly afford, I would have taken Diaz over Nico. In the grand scheme of things, 70m is hardly much higher than 60m
