10 - Lamine Yamal

I don't get why he is the designated penalty kicker either. I mean get why, but I don't agree with it.
The one for me that makes most sense is Frenkie.

But Lamine is up there. Lamine is one of the more stoic players and he has good technique and is developing power for the shot.

Raphinha also decent pick, but I feel once he misses he will completely collapse mentally and needs to regain confidence.

Frenkie and pk??? Lololol. And he isn't even available.

Rapha shoot the pen vs Atletico and he scored it

So Lamine is not the designated taker. But in that Newcastle game it was right decision to give that to Lamine and not only bc he scored. Rapha looked absolutely absent from the match mentally from start and hence likely would have missed it

Should probably be Lewa whenever he is on the pitch. Other than that, maybe Raphinha or even Rashford when he's on as he's scored a lot of penalties in his career? Yamal seems as up to it as anyone else, though.

He dispatched it really well, to be fair, lol.

I am not convinced by his penalty shots, mainly for the lack of power he has. Until he fixes that, I don't think he should be taking them.

No idea about Frenkie, but I would put Lewa, Raphinha, and Rashford before him.

Your obsession with Yamal is weird. It seems whatever Yamal does, you always find a way to hate him. What a loser.

Pk is mostly about how calm you are in front of the goalkeeper. Most don't put full power in penalty shoot.

I think for current roster, aside from Lewy, Yamal isn't below Raphinha or Rashford

Yeah I don't think you need power with pens Don't get me wrong, using power is a valid way to hit them, but plenty players send the keeper the wrong way and place them. Or don't use much power and just finesse them into the corner so well that even if goalkeeper goes right way he cannot get it.

Sometimes blasting with power can cause a miss, look at the two Rangers penalties at the weekend. Though I don't think Alik isn't advocating for lots of power, just more than Yamal sometimes uses.

I think, as with open play, using what they call the finesse shot in Fifa - placement and accuracy - is a great way to score. That's what I like to do when I play myself usually. The Henry shot.

Even with placement Lamine was lacking power. Look at the first penalty he took.

He’s been working on strength. You can tell on his shots from open play as well.

I think big part of penalties is the ability to handle the pressure and it's crazy if our 18yo is the best already to deal with such immense pressure on top of having to deal with all the outside pressure from media and fans while still being a developing human being himself. Most people at that age would crumble under pressure if they were put into similar situtation. That's why I would prefer some older player from the team to step up.

But I guess if Lamine is able to handle these things no problem, it will only serve us well in the long run to have someone taking penalties we can rely on.
