Well, I beg to differ... he actually put in a lot of good defensive work today, some great passing and positioning etc.

Could be. I just don't see a woow effect of Xavi, Iniesta when they broke in. Or Busi.

Not everyone can be like those all time greats but there is definitely a lot of hype around Bernal. I am merely talking in relation to that.

Otherwise normal performance against a weak team.

He was ok.

Midfield played well but more to do with Frenkie being best player on park which was needed after couple poorer games.

Not a huge claim v Levante but a lot of others were poor.

I'm taking it slowly with the hype, but he showed a lot last 2 games to get a lot more minutes - let's start there :)

Get your head out of your own ass, Frenkie was good but not the best player on park - you really go overboard with Frenkie my dude
Just keep it real, he's finally doing great, he's finally doing what we pay him to do...

Frenkie was the best far far better than Bernal.

Scored and created the most chances while constantly on the ball.

Decent game. He is still just 18 while also missing a year of football.

My biggest gripe today, was that he was too left footed. There were a couple of times when he could have progressed the ball quicker with a simple right, but insisted on taking touches to then circulate with the left.

Will have to keep an eye on this as can cause turnovers.

Hopefully he keeps improving. Not all young players will become great overnight. Most take a bit of time. He is a good 2 to 3 years away from being a first team regular imo.

He is young, gangly and awkward still.

Players can work past that.. or dont.

That and his range of passing will need to improve a lot if to be a top top player.

Dude has played like a total of 500 minutes first team football for Barcelona, he’ll improve a lot 😊 He might even become better than Frenkie…

That is more or less our fault, the fanbase's fault.

When we stop bringing up those all time greats to compare we'll learn to appreciate some talents more. I think Bernal is good. Don't know if he'll be special, but he's good.

People also forget, or never realized, that Iniesta and Xavi didn't even become world beaters until their mid/late 20s. Bernal is 18. Pedri just turned 23.

I'm not saying Bernal will be world class, but I agree that people need to stop comparing, especially when a player is still a teenager. I'm all wishful thinking with these young players. The only things I can harshly criticize them for is dumb stuff like Gavi focusing more on the tackles and the hard man act than learning to work on his passing range and be better in position, under pressure etc That can be worked on at any age, the rest is just waiting and hoping for the best.
