He's probably just a limited footballer.

I don't think this one's about development or lack thereof.

Starting to remind me of the left footed version of Nelson Semedo.

He is too one footed and cant do much unless can run onto ball or get up head of steam to dribble out.

In final third he has no idea how to beat a man if fronted at slower pace.

He definitely is limited. But if he can master what he's good/solid at, he will still be a top fullback. There are no signs of that however

Runs into space, precise low crosses, more attempts at goal... there is countless ways he can improve himself. Right now he is really just a level below. It's not that he's hasn't developed he has actually regressed massively. 22/23 Balde is miles ahead of whatever this is

Hopefully we can get Cancelo up to speed, the few things he did in attack against Sociedad were better than what Balde has accomplished the whole season.
