I'm not worried, it was a great game yesterday. These things happen. The Spanish league isn't the EPL or the Bundesliga where the championship is decided in January.

Most frustrating game I’ve watched in a while. This was next level unlucky on our side and RS clearly sold their soul to the devil to win this one. Nothing else to say, good game, we move on.

This loss is only a problem if it affects players mentally

Otherwise, no worries. Real is 1 point behind but they have played very few of the tough away games. Valencia, Betis, Villarreal, Espanyol, Celta, Sevilla... still waiting

While we have of the tough ones yet Getafe. There are Bilbao, Atletico and Valencia but these are teams we mostly have no problem with under Flick

And on top of this we are a whole dimension ahead of Real, as a team. They are not catching up with usus, unless the team falls off a cliff mentally because of this

But shouldn't happen. They know they were better and this kind of games happens

I mean…it could be onside considering the angle.

Football needs change. I'm sick of this shit. Legit goals are being disallowed all the time because of dumb rules

In all seriousness, if this happens to Barça in a CL final or something and we lose because of it, I will stop watching the sport

That was goal like any other. Absolute nonsense

This semi automatic offside is also the dumbest shit ever

Yeah, bring fucking quantum supercomputers to determine if he was 3 milimetres offside. As if it matters. There is no advantage if forward is so little ahead of the defender

If the referee and the VAR can't see the offside, then just allow the fucking goal. Fuck are they paid for

The big part of reason why that goal was disallowed is because assistant referee immediately called it offside when there is no fucking way he could see it unless he has some sensors in his eyes

He just saw it was a close 50-50 situation and said "let's give it a shot. If anything, ruin their celebration"

Don't think they would even check it otherwise

I can't get over that goal man. Especially considering the same thing happened last season. Unacceptable

They check every close call, whether the linesman raises his flag or not. According to the current rules, if the timing of the kickoff was correct, it was offside. It was the right decision, and unlike a year ago when Lewandowski suddenly had a huge foot, I don't see any error because we all knew that even millimeters can lead to offside as long as the rules allow it. And imagine if they change the rules to, say, a 2 cm tolerance; then you'll be annoyed if you're 3 cm offside. There's no solution without side effects.

I'm not speaking of any tolerance, they should just stop involving computers and super precise measurements in this because it really doesn't matter if someone was offside so little. There is no advantage for the forward

Let the referees decide. We did well for years like that. Why is it that we can't trust judgements of people who are paid to do it? Get competent people in there and you don't have to worry. A lot of historic goals in football are probably offside. Iniesta goal in WC final would probably be disallowed in modern day because of this shit

I don't know about you guys but I just can't sit well with this. Maybe we need some time, for people to see this nonsense affect matches on the biggest stage, and then they will say hold up we need to change something

It can look like this or that but key, for me, is how long it took them to release it. Same as with last year with same ref in the graphic editing room. I mean bar room.
yes ur right. You said it in chat and it was the case. I have presented this argument to other people in my circles.

I agree with you, the old VAR line-drawing was easier to understand, but the semi-automatic technology was introduced to save time. Especially in situations where it's close but clearer than a situation like yesterday which also costs time because it was so close, the technology saves minutes. On average, offside checks without the technology used to take significantly longer. So the reason it was introduced wasn't accuracy, but time.

I don't understand this line at all, because the penalty area line is clearly at an angle, while the VAR line is straight. Shouldn't they be parallel?

If the lines were drawn parallel Yamal would be much more offside than the line shown.

Basic spatial understanding.

It was obvious in real time he was offside smfh.

This was one of those nights where no matter how well you play you are destined to lose, it sucks but it does happen on rare occasions, we played real good football, cannot be mad at the team.
