I mean…it could be onside considering the angle.

Football needs change. I'm sick of this shit. Legit goals are being disallowed all the time because of dumb rules
They check every close call, whether the linesman raises his flag or not. According to the current rules, if the timing of the kickoff was correct, it was offside. It was the right decision, and unlike a year ago when Lewandowski suddenly had a huge foot, I don't see any error because we all knew that even millimeters can lead to offside as long as the rules allow it. And imagine if they change the rules to, say, a 2 cm tolerance; then you'll be annoyed if you're 3 cm offside. There's no solution without side effects. The big part of reason why that goal was disallowed is because assistant referee immediately called it offside when there is no fucking way he could see it unless he has some sensors in his eyes
He just saw it was a close 50-50 situation and said "let's give it a shot. If anything, ruin their celebration"
Don't think they would even check it otherwise
I can't get over that goal man. Especially considering the same thing happened last season. Unacceptable
I'm not speaking of any tolerance, they should just stop involving computers and super precise measurements in this because it really doesn't matter if someone was offside so little. yes ur right. You said it in chat and it was the case. I have presented this argument to other people in my circles. It can look like this or that but key, for me, is how long it took them to release it. Same as with last year with same ref in the graphic editing room. I mean bar room.
I agree with you, the old VAR line-drawing was easier to understand, but the semi-automatic technology was introduced to save time. Especially in situations where it's close but clearer than a situation like yesterday which also costs time because it was so close, the technology saves minutes. On average, offside checks without the technology used to take significantly longer. So the reason it was introduced wasn't accuracy, but time.I'm not speaking of any tolerance, they should just stop involving computers and super precise measurements in this because it really doesn't matter if someone was offside so little. Let the referees decide. We did well for years like that. Why is it that we can't trust judgements of people who are paid to do it? Get competent people in there and you don't have to worry. A lot of historic goals in football are probably offside. Iniesta goal in WC final would probably be disallowed in modern day because of this shit
I don't know about you guys but I just can't sit well with this. Maybe we need some time, for people to see this nonsense affect matches on the biggest stage, and then they will say hold up we need to change something
I don't understand this line at all, because the penalty area line is clearly at an angle, while the VAR line is straight. Shouldn't they be parallel?
