🚨🚨 | JUST IN: Florentino Pérez reportedly played a key role in HELPING Joan Laporta become Barcelona president.

During the Barça presidential elections, Laporta needed a €124.6M bank guarantee.

Sabadell Bank initially hesitated due to Barcelona’s financial crisis, but Perez is said to have intervened, backing Laporta as an ally in the European Super League project.

I don't see how Perez could have influenced Barca socios to elect Laporta in the first place. Laporta supported ESL initially, because the project promised a lot of more money for the club, more than CVC and UEFA. But all of this was born out of the fact Barca were bankrupt at that time and were desperate.

Fat man needs to start kicking up the fuss. Being quiet and nice does nothing.
Madrid whine and scream, make things up, use their tv channel. It works.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
The last time Laporta spoke about the corruption of referees in Spain it was during Koeman's time here and every man and his dog, including most Barca fans here and beyond, insulted him for it and told him to shut up and be ' self critical '.

Going online and seeing Barca fans high fiving Madrid fans who insulted him for highlighting Madrid favouritism is a terrible terrible look. Same thing happened to Lamine only a few months ago before the Classico with his ' they steal and then complain ' comment.

It was at that point that I knew Laporta would be reluctant to do it again and so it has proved.

If you want him to stand up for the club, don't criticise him for it when he does it.

Laporta Witnesses Referees Celebrating After Real Sociedad Match

After the Real Sociedad game, Laporta was heading to his car when he saw the refereeing team in the parking lot, hugging and congratulating each other on their performance.

Laporta and his companions were left in shock, but had no choice but to compose themselves and continue on their way. 🔵🔴

Date for elections set, Ides of March

Haters can rejoice that Laporta will resign on February 6 as by club process ahead of election - unlike Bartomeu who ignored the rules in 2015, he will not be signing Arda Turan or similar via the interim managing committee headed by Rafa Yuste

Will he promise Beckham? Back to 1:1 a year ago or stadium 2 years ago? If you're looking for liars and cheats, look no further than your fat poster boy.

As opposed to Laporta who signed Villa when he was about to leave and after season had finished? Or manufactured a position in club for Cruyff which he couldnt do and purely to get reaction knowing next board had to remove him..

Point is, are there not younger, more capable, less nepotistic people in Catalunya. Someone with fresh ideas and genuine work ethic and business acumen.

Not this fat dinasour.

The way the club is structured with the politics surrounding it and the sheer cost needed, you're unlikely to see a young man with fresh ideas like that.

What Laporta did in 2003 was basically a miracle and he was backed by a strong group of people that's gone on to be executives elsewhere around in Europe.

Elena Fort would be a benchmark for this. At least judging by "young leaders" of Europe in general. Do you want that? I'd rather keep the lovable fat clown.
