8 - Pedri

He is king but damn if only he had stronger lower body strength to directly challenge opponent in one on one. His skill is top class but lack of strength to destroy opponent's defense.
He wouldn't be as agile then though. He is perfect just the way he is, in a similar sense like Iniesta was. They could/can both just glide through defenses sometimes, just beautiful.

Iniesta wasn't fast but he had verry good acceleration, quick burst. He could easily dribble past multiple players, something Pedri can't.

Probably one of our most notable, worst big game performers, and obviously not fit to play in a double pivot. Conversations to be had. Connecting teammates isn't enough and he has regressed as a player since last season. Needs to be held to better standards by all those who truly love him.
Double pivot will held Pedri back a lot. He needs to play in an 8/10 hybrid position.

Extremly lucky, that we didn't lose him for many months here. If the grass would have held his foot and his heel didn't slide to the side, his ankle would have been gone with this attack. Only the slide absorbed the hit. That's at least a big win tonight. Losing Pedri would have been devestating.

It was his standing foot, extremely dangerous tackle.

Great at controlling the play, shit at creating chances. Not close to Iniesta
He often ignores the tough through-ball. He needs to risk more. Way too conservative.

There was an instance today where a pocket of space opened up and 2 of our players made a great run into it and he just passed it over to someone else. Take the risk man, we are losing.

This is the difference, and I've said this before, between Pedri and Dejong, and Xavi & Iniesta. They were just on another level of midfield mastery. They didn't just play pretty and held on to the ball, they killed you if you gave them a chance.

It's a problem with not just Pedri but also De Jong (although Pedri to a lesser extent) Not risking the pass when our forwards are making good runs.
