World Cup '26 qualifiers discussion

Don’t understand why Uzbekistan was moved either. Seemed like they made up the rules on the go.
I was curious and found this, it's because of the playoff groups and the possible nations that qualify:
Before the draw even started it was already known that the winner of the Iraq playoff would be in a group with 2 European teams and 1 African team due to the 1 team per confederation rule. When Uzbekistan was drawn, group I was the only group remaining that would make this possible.

Too many boring groups, no surprise with the addition of so many new teams. I made a potential knockout stage, also taking into account the favorites to qualify via the play offs. This is just a guess of course. Also I'm a bit confused on how 3rd placed teams will get paired.

The bracket is clear:
- Germany or France against Spain the SF of the left side
- England/Brazil against Argentina or Italy/Portugal the SF of the right side

I would love to see Germany-SPain, England-Argentina

Pundits were confused, asking themselves "what are we going to talk about when Haiti and Capo Verde games are on? Politics?".

I'm also putting Suriname up there. It's the Dutch school of football facing Bolivian Primera and the Iraqi league.

You know there are too many teams in the World Cup when half of the teams are not even pronounced properly as they are drawn.

Cristiano Colombus watching this and thinking he should have sailed further.

I couldn't agree more. Way too many teams. What a shitshow. Money money money. I fucking hate it.

It's going to way too many shitgames with no value in terms of football.
