Inexcusable to miss that in the start of the game. He's 10m directly in front of the goal, not from some angle, all the time in the world to see the free space and he still managed to miss the 7m wide goal from that position. For me, it's as bad and as dumb as Araujo's cards. If he doesn't have the nerves for such games, he should stay away from the pitch then.
He definitely showed that he's a good enough squad player for LaLiga, but his good games fool us, because you can never trust him to score when it counts in such games. And not forgetting him losing all the duels, second balls, participating in the own goal and fucking up some counters. Sadly he's a mental midget, who probably got affected by that missed sitter.
The easiest thing to do after a loss is blame coach for his selectionI hate to say "told ya'll", but I told ya'll!!!
When I saw the lineup my thoughts were "oh no, Ara - red card in the first half for sure... play Eric there - play Martin for Balde, play Olmo for Eric in midfield, start Rashy on LW and start Tuna on CF (even if he sucks, we need the press in the first half)". I'm by no means a fucking expert, but almost everybody and their mother knew that was the right thing to do. Of course Torres sucks, who was fooled by the very bad finish against Bilbao when he had another sitter that luckily went in (and ok, second goal was alright)? I just wanted him in the first half to run his ass of and press, than in the second half sub on Lewa when we Chelsea is more tired and we have more control of the game. Flick could have done these things, that's why I blame his ass - he got fooled by his goals against Bilbao.
Of course we can blame the coach. I had 3-4 predictions on the selection before the game and all of them came trough... I had many people thinking my exact thoughts. I understand where you're coming from though, if we would have won that wouldn't have matter what my amateur opinion was. But it's so fucking clear, how many more times we need to "test" Ara against decent teams, how many more red cards before you also agree we can blame the coach for the selection? Come on dude? Also, Olmo was ballin' last couple of games - of course you start him in a game like this since Fermin won't get a fucking chance to roam freely like he did against Bilbao - we needed some fucking control and hold-up play... Fermin can't do that, everybody knew that before the game. The easiest thing to do after a loss is blame coach for his selection
But what were his alternatives? Olmo in midfield, are you serious? One game against Bilbao doesn't mean we can start that weak pussy in midfield against a physical EPL side
Balde was least of our problems yasterday. Martin would likely get molested by Estevao
As for Torres, again, what are the alternatives? Rashford played entire second half and was almost equally shit. Torres also had a very good game on Sunday, there was no way to predict he would absolutely fumble and have that disasterclass. That unbelievable miss ruined him mentally and after that he got everything wrong
