The two times he dropped deep don't think it prevented an offside either time.
One of them their player was still in his own half and for goal it looked close but Cubarsi playing him on.
As said it looked deliberate set up due to way teams leaving a CF up but didn't work.
Far far better when left to be a midfielder and not covering CBs like that.

Nah he can defend and more tackles/interceptions than anyone.
On that goal he tries to cover the low ball in early from wide thst has been causing havoc from teams when get away but it then leaves space on edge of box.
Keeper should save it but the whole set up wasn't working and Flick abandoned it rightfully so in 2nd half.
Levels a better defender than likes of Casado or Gavi on those areas.
