Have you given up on this season just yet?

Due to the insane results of the 2024-25 season for our beloved club, I went in into 2025-26 expecting a European double and I was confident that the team would learn from their mistakes and improve en route to finally conquering La Orejona for the first time in what would be 11 years. But what we saw was the same mistakes done in 2023-24 where we went into the season very confident and actually very overcofident which led to complacency and disgusting football all around. Now we are in November, the season still has a LOT to go, so the question arises, have you given up on this season just yet?

Of course not

I don't think we can win La Liga. It's not that Madrid is too strong, they actually suck against most decent teams. But they have the perfect formula for these lower LL sides. They also won first El Clasico. Mbappe is on fire and their depth is fantastic

For us everything is reverse. We actually offer great resistance in big games even at our worst (which is now), as we showed against PSG and Madrid, both games we could have won with a little more luck. The lower sides are super motivated against us, because there is a clear blueprint on how to beat Flick (sit back and hit in transitions) so they believe in it. We don't have a reliable goalscorer yet, maybe we will if Rapha comes back to his last season level or Lamine increases his efficiency. And while our depth is actually good when everyone is fit, this season players are dropping like flies so we actually don't have many choices off the bench

But on the other hand, there is UCL. Like I said even at our worst we managed to offer some resistance against both PSG and Madrid and could have easily won both games. At our best, there is no team in Europe we can't compete with. When team is at that level, UCL is always a possibility and you have to believe.

Think I remember you posting positive stuff last season when Barca were at the bottom of their slump. Maybe we all expected a bit too much

Yeah I believed in the team’s capabilities after seeing them absolutely dominate everyone in October. Even in November-December 2024, I still felt they were up to the task, you don’t just score 8 goals and concede 1 against BOTH Bayern and Madrid in a matter of 4 days and not be up to the task. Now I agree with expected a bit too much, it is very difficult to expect this team to consistently be world class 2 years in a row when we have such a thin squad, although I still believe in the team now, I can see the spark of us last season in games like Newcastle, Valencia and Getafe. We just need to focus on our football and fitness and the results will come hopefully.

Really?

Raphinha was a Ballon d'Or contender last season, scored 13 CL goals, is our best presser and the real captain of the team. He is injured.

Yamal is semi-injured and not at his best form, which is okay in November.

We're again relying on a back-from-retirement GK due to injury while we actually improved the position massively with Garcia.

Many injuries at the same time => no depth => no rest for some players.

We have massive upwards potential. Only 3 points behind Madrid if we manage a win today at Celta (which I doubt but let's see) would be quite good considering how much worse we are compared to last season and how much better Madrid are.

CL anything can happen, can't put your hopes on that competition anyway.
