Gonna sound like broken record: Been a stan for this loandeal since the start, but ultimately delivering while under a secure contract is what peepz question.

Good point.

If he does well overall, it will be stupid to not trigger such a low buy option clause.
A clever idea will be to have a fixed base salary, and incentives and performance-related clauses that increase his salary (kind of like LAmine's new contract).

That will make sure he has no interest in flopping when he gets his secure contract

Yes. People read it as him now delivering cause he left Man U where he was unhappy.

But could be that he is someone that gets bored quickly and needs to be incentivised regularly.

“For sure, consistency is a massive part of it. I feel like I have been in an inconsistent environment for a very long time (speaks about Manu), so it is even more difficult to be consistent. But I completely agree, I think consistency is what I need to bring into my game and I am looking to do that. I want to be at my best, not sometimes, but as often as possible. When people talk about consistency, in order to be consistent in anything, not just sport, you need consistent variables in your life and the way you train. We have just had so many changes so far in my career but I have to look forward and that it definitely one of the things I want to put right and improve on to be at my best more often. When I am at my best I really enjoy everything about the sport.”

If we can haggle them for less than 30m. And get his salary reduced 20%.
I will be happy if he is a backup for that price.

Thomas Tuchel on Marcus Rashford:

"It's not a question of talent, it's a question of whether he can prove the point at club and international level. Otherwise, he will be disappointed in 10 years at what could have been and what he made of it.

"I think the limit for him is very, very high. Maybe higher than for others. He has the potential - but potential is a dangerous word with high-level sports.

"You have to reach your personal best on a regular basis - that is what is demanded on this kind of level, and that is the challenge for him.

"He can be one of the best in the world because the quality I see in training, the finishing with both legs and with the head. He is explosive, he is fast, he is strong in the air, so where are the limits?

"There are no limits - but the numbers don't reach the potential, it is as easy as that."

How much of Lamine’s new contract is performance based?

AFAIK there's no early deadline that forces us to trigger the buy option, which means we can assess his overall season and not just 10 games. If he keeps this up then 30m is a good price, but we don't have to decide until another 6-7 months of football.
