Obviously if you really want to buy him then you

pay the clause for 10m and loan him straight out. Register the loss but don't count it against the salary cap.

That is unless LaLiga wants to fuck you and you need to register players before you loan them out.

3m would've been worth a gamble.

Whatever it is, it is about to get messy.

Cadiz say that they still own 50% of their rights and that Villarreal only sold theirs to Levante, and that Villarreal do not have a right to a buyback clause. So in Cadiz eyes they own 50% and Levante the other 50%, with Villarreal potentially holding a sell on percent from the share sold to Levante only.

Villarreal believe that Cadiz hold 50% of the sell on rights, which after the sale to Levante means that the clause is fulfillled and Cadiz earn 1.5m.

Time to grab the popcorn. Deco is probably just disappointed that he didn't manage to get involved along with Andy Bara.

Pass.

This guy had a 10m buyout which we can't afford.

Gets sold for 3m.

Then we want him a year later for 30m.

I agree, to some extent though.
Sometimes a player needs that 1 year to build "character" and not be sold and than loaned out by Barca. Sometimes that 1 season is what really makes a player, builds grit. Now we can follow this dude throughout the season and pick him up for still cheap when Lewa leaves. I've been watching this dude, reminds me a little of Suarez - looks clumsy but actually has great technique.

Yeah yeah yeah, next summer everything changes for us...
We moved in to Camp Nou already and hopefully next season on full capacity + Lewa is gone. We'll be in a much better financial situation, finally.
Also, we can't fucking buy every "wonder kid" out there - especially in our situation. Some players also want to play week in and week out, this kid maybe didn't want to sit on the bench watching Rags on the ground all the time.

So this whole thing started because on September 2nd his buyout clause was set to rise to 30m, with Cadiz holding 50% sell on fee.

During Summer his agent was offering him everywhere, and using our name with the buyout clause being 10m at that point.

If we were interested we could have, for example, hit his buyout clause of 10m and then loaned him to Levante, the same way Villarreal sold him to Levante for 3m. Villarreal didn't have him bench watching either.

The talk is this Summer Villarreal will bring him back for a pre-agreed fee killing Cadiz 50% sell on fee. Cadiz are saying it's 50% of transfer rights, and not 50% of sell on rights. But that's another story.

Villarreal idea will be to eventually sell him on for 30/40m+ after buying him back for 6/10m or so next Summer.

So yeah, the same way Samu was an opportunity at 6m and not at 60m which Porto will now demand, Eyong was an opportunity at 10m and not the 40m+ Villarreal will demand.

These young strikers are within our country and our scouts should know them very very well, so it is very different than bringing a South American talent where you have to worry about them adapting.

Kofane from Albacete, who Leverkusen signed for 5.25m this Summer was another one of these cases.

EG. Gonzalo Petit. Betis bought him for 5m or so and loaned him to Mirandes. Results so far? 4 goals in 8.

Again you don't sign these guys to rot on the bench, but to be loaned somewhere and develop.

Still it is different to "fight" and build on that experience OR be bought by Barca (hence accomplishing your dream) and than loaned out. It's mind set thing...
I'm not saying activating his 10M buyout wouldn't be the best move, but what I am saying is that sometimes weird circumstances actually make a world of difference for some players. For now, let's sit back and watch him go about the rest of the season - he might be a dud, but if he keeps improving than buying a new 9 at the age of 21-22 for 40M is still a fucking bargain.

Yeah I get you. But then if that made the difference then the guy never had the mentality to succeed here anyways.

Sometimes you got to get ahead of the food-chain before you have to fight with the sharks for the prize.
