20 - Dani Olmo

Felix at Barca is a good comparison with Olmo. They both started great and got a lot of hype after first few games but then fell in form (Olmo also got injured). Both weak in the body and the mind, both 10s with a nice flick here and there but no real end product, no consistency, no fight in them...Very similar. At least Felix was only a loan while Olmo cost us a fortune.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
His bad form is a blessing in disguise. Flick will be so desperate to replace him that he will shoo in Raph at CAM.

And then our best front 4 will fall into Don Flick's lap.

Yamal Raph Rash
Ferran.

God showing He is a true cule AGAIN.

When he plays like this you wonder, what the hell are his strengths?

Can't keep ball under pressure, can't distribute balls to runners at wings, can't finish, average defensive effort. Anti 10.

I don't see Raphinha as a 10. Raphinha should be playing the Dembele role for us; I've been saying that since last season.

Play Rashford or Torres wide to cut in as he drops deep.

Drop Olmo, play a fit Gavi because, as I pointed out versus Inter, when we are losing the midfield battle, we need someone who can drop into the CM role and feel comfortable and help.

Olmo or Fermin can't do that.

Our manager isn't thinking on that level, so it's not happening. Playing Raphinha at 10, we'll be dominated in midfield by teams like PSG again, because when we are being outnumbered and outplayed, he doesn't have the awareness of a midfielder to help. But it may work in 95% of the games, but we win those anyway with him at LF.

Garcia

Kounde Araujo Cubarsi Balde
De Jong Pedri
Yamal gavi rashford/Torres
Raphinha

Should be our gala XI, swap rashford and Torres for lewa as needed, move raphinha back to LF (Obviously)

He has a lot of quality. Just needs to find a bit of rhythm.

Creative, great final ball, eye for goal, can beat his man in and around the box, high IQ, vision and good movement.

To me it looks like he is now too afraid to get injured. I was talking about it last season why he was good. He dribbled in a way, which causes injuries but now he is a bit more afraid of those because the injury issues or trying to avoid them, that he becomes less useful.

We need that fearless Olmo back, BUT that version comes with injuries. His knee will get fucked up or some other part.

The close control used to be his biggest strength, but now he is afraid to do it. Avoiding the things which made him the best. It's like Messi avoiding dribbles. It would t make sense.

Also I think Messi himself said, he doesn't want to rest, because being afraid of injury makes you more likely to get injured. It's kinda voodoo thing to say, but it does make sense. Messi could never play at his level, if he was afraid of injuries. Same goes for Olmo. He is afraid and it's hurting him.

Either way, it's a messed up situation, if he wants to be good, he needs to chillax and take those injuries. They will happen. If he is afraid, he won't be effective. If he is afraid, he will be as effective as he would be on the hospital tho. So better just risk it.
