Lads acting like Isak is some proven world class striker.

He was a good player for Newcastle. That's it.
2 great seasons for Newcastle.

Also he's a complete striker with elite dribbling ability.

In today's market, where unproven young kids cost 80 mil, Isak is pretty much a proven world class striker.

He's top 5 in the world in his position.

Very unlikely unless sign some defenders.

Every manager on the planet can see Barca's backline vulnerabilities. Not something new as it was there last season too.

The issue is that last season was the indicator that the backline needed to be strengthened - only it got weaker.

yeah there is a lot of work to do but i still think we are a top3 team, only PSG is clearly stronger than us

the match vs Real will answer a lot of questions

Is he like Dortmund Lewandowski, Pool Suarez, or Lyon Benzema?

No.

So, he's not surefire to be some savior of your club. At this point, he might be or he might not. It's just not an inevitability like you saw with my 3 examples of proven world class strikers who would elevate teams.

Yeah that era is long gone. Irrelevant comparison.

World class strikers are extremely rare these days.

Who are the world class strikers today?

Haaland.

Mbappe who's arguably more of an inside forward.

Kane who's above 30.

RL9 who's 37.

We can't sign Haaland or Mbappe so Isak is pretty much the best striker available on the market.

Alvarez is great too but Isak has shown more as a main striker so far.

My point was that Isak being in the top 5 strikers of the world (which as you said, is by the drop in level more than anything else) is precisely why that's not a reliable metric for him to turn your fortunes.

That was a reliable metric when the competition pool was legit.

Also nice try sneaking current Lewa in there  Like we wouldn't notice.

Nothing is guaranteed in Football but Isak is the best striker we could get currently.

Lewy still has great goals per 90 this season and got more than 40 last season. You shouldn't write him off at this point. He proves people wrong again and again.

AC Milan want him.
