Problem is he needs a lot of control. And Barca are not the kind of club to do these kind of favors to managers. PSG were desperate and played along, don't think he'll get the same freedom here. It's really early to talk about future Flick replacement. But it's good we'll always have the option of bringing Lucho back. Not sure if his name weighs heavier than Flick at this point, depends how season goes I guess.
Luis Enrique, who has a contract with PSG until 2027, still dreams of returning to Barça. He misses life in Barcelona, and with elections approaching his name could reappear as a fan-favourite option. @sport
Wouldn’t mind having Flick as manager until he retires. I mean, when we find someone at his level, one of the very best with great compatibility, we should cherish it, for who knows who may replace him! Valverde, Koeman, Martino… if the wrong Presidential candidate wins. 🤕
Not sure I’d be able to take 3+ years of Valverde football again ….
Every manager has dips in form. Look at the best manager in history right now, Pep! Point is, great managers deserve patience and time. It is not like at Man U where they give patience and time to shit managers. Flick was made for Barca. With that said, we aren’t a club that hires managers long-term. As soon as results dip, we fire. With flick, that would be a mistake, especially if Martinez, or a Valverde 2.0 gets hired under a new President. Dark ages would await.I don't think Flick can be a long term manager. He seems like someone who plays a style that is great when it works but could become a shitshow very quickly after it stops working. At one point there will be a period where we'll gonna concede a shitload of goals and not score enough to keep winning and he'll lose his job. Hopefully not this season but I think that will happen in the next 1-2 years and we can pray that Lucho will be avaliable when that happens.
