Not been watching Wimbledon, but thread seems unusually quiet given it is going on right now and is essentially the World Cup of tennis. There's many big tennis fans on here.
I guess you guys will discuss more when it gets to the latter stages.

I like tennis but would consider my eye untrained with it. I have noticed when I have watched bits of the hard court stuff (US and Australian Opens) the game does seem faster and more exciting. Probably the larger bounce.

Yeah, hard court is my favorite. It’s quite a bit faster than clay, but at the same time not too fast like grass, IMO. I can understand why some like it, especially in these days of people having short attention spans, but there’s barely any long rallies and exchanges, and that’s not for me. Too many aces, 40-0 games etc.

Yeah Wimbledon does seem to be a game for the big servers or the serve and volley types.
Not sure how accurate video games are, but on Super Tennis on the SNES, hard court was always more fun than grass because the bounce was better and you could get more rallies going. Then it was the same in more advanced 3D tennis games later on. I assume it must be the same in real life. I have only played tennis a very little amount and only on grass so can't really compare from experience. I have played badminton more.
I love rallies too so I agree with you. Nothing more boring than some ace monster.

Courts don't matter. What we lack are bright characters that are not only great athletes, but also nurture their own style. I miss era of Sampras , Agassi, Ivanisevic, Becker, Muster, Rios, Chang, Kafelnikov, Henman etc. Very varied characters in both their specific talents and also temper. Tennis also is victim of "scientification" of sports. Everything's mechanic.

Yeah without delving into red pill and incel stuff, I do view feminism as a supremacy movement, not equality. They want all the perks of being a woman and none of the cons.

There are enough people, who don't live by these deranged psychopath rules even in todays society and they are usually demonized as the bad ones by establishment.
