Quick takes from the game:

Quenda looked good, I am impressed.
Samu is a physical beast tbh, he could develop well there. Gyökeres touch looked good tbh, not a heavy one at all. I don't see it with Mora, Trincao is same of old.

The former long-term president of FC Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, died on Saturday after a long period of illness. He was 87 and had been battling prostate cancer.

RIP.

Ever heard of a stadium/town swap? @Porque

Two of my more local clubs, Clyde (based in Cumbernauld, which wasn't their original area anyway, it was Glasgow) and Hamilton Accies, separated by about 17 miles, are now playing in each others' stadiums. Clyde left Broadwood (where they had been since the 90s) three years ago I believe to play at Hamilton's New Douglas Park as the two clubs ground shared. And now Hamilton will be playing at Broadwood from this season.

I am down at Broadwood playing football fairly often (I live in another town in the region). The 5 and 7 a side pitches outside the stadium are pretty good, and the stadium itself is decent to play in too.

Lots of shady stuff behind the scenes between the owners of the respective sides, but feel bad for the fans that basically the two teams have swapped grounds despite being nowhere near each other, really. It's Hamilton's 150th year anniversary too.

Read a funny comment on reddit that they could just swap names of teams and kits.

AI info, as google knows more than me

Hamilton Academical (Accies) is planning to move its home ground from New Douglas Park to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, effectively swapping with Clyde FC. This move comes after a dispute over stadium ownership and rental costs at New Douglas Park, where Hamilton has played for 24 years. Clyde, who previously played at Broadwood, will continue their tenancy at New Douglas Park.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Hamilton's Decision:
Hamilton Academical is relocating to Broadwood Stadium due to a disagreement with the stadium's owner, Colin McGowan, regarding ownership and rental fees.

  • Clyde's Continued Tenancy:
Clyde FC will remain at New Douglas Park, which they have been sharing with Hamilton this season.

  • Long-Term Goals:
Hamilton aims to build a new stadium in Hamilton in the long term and is already in discussions with South Lanarkshire Council to identify a suitable location.

  • Recent Context:
Hamilton was recently relegated from the Championship after an appeal regarding license conditions was rejected.

  • Potential for Future Development:
The situation also involves the potential sale of the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford, which could see Salford Red Devils move to the Peninsula Stadium (Moor Lane) and Salford City FC join Sale Sharks at the AJ Bell.
