I know we make fun of Bundesliga opposition Bayern face with their 11 titles in 12 years or whatever their run is, but by comparison with Ligue 1... Dortmund played a CL final last season. 2 in around a decade.

When the 3-4th placed team in Ligue 1 plays a CL final, then I'll take Ligue 1 a bit more seriously. At the level of Bundesliga.

I take it none of you have met QSG fans in person. I would never side with either Madrid or QSG when there is a third option, whoever that may be.

We may perceive QSG's domestic titles as unworthy. But their season is already being hyped up by both media and neutrals as amongst the greatest ever, some of their players as amongst the greatest ever (Hakimi being hailed as the top 3 goat fullck lol), Vatinha better than Pedri, Doué better than Yamal et yada yada. I even see Barca fans on this very forum acting sympathetic towards them, when their fanbase only has disdain and contempt for us.
Because there is no QSG fan in real life.

BTW Chelsea's path to the final. What a joke.
Even though I do like to see South American sides doing, well, I was looking at their path earlier and it is soft. They haven't played a single 'European superpower' club yet. They will in the final though.

I mean the three Brazilian sides and Benfica are decent, but they should be winning those games.

What do you mean nothing to lose? If PSG wins, they will be on course for an unprecedented feat (7 titles in a calender year) and thus surpassing Barca's sextuple (2009). That will make their fanbase even more insufferable. Its bad enough that they mistreated Barca's greatest player ever, push agendas against the current best year (c 'dogmal'), use money to lure our best players and constantly chant vile slogans against the club, becoming louder and more hateful towards Barca with every success..

F QSG and everyone who supports them.

Yeah, still, no fanbase anywhere is more antipathetic than Madrid fans.

- I have understood very well. Not conclusive evidence, because it is sample size of 1.
But only piece of evidence we have. You can't simply discredit it.

- No, you didn't counter. That's a counterfactual fallacy based on "what ifs" and "what if nots"

- It's not my statement. It's my opinion, backed by some evidence.
Zlatan's statement, for instance, has 0 argumentation in it. So it is worth 0.
You haven't proved anything against my claim by stats for the reasons I already explained.

- Eye test also is being called in a totally subjective and idiosyncratic manner by you and others.
Eye test says, for instance, that Messi can't make the dribbling runs he was making in 18/19, but you refuse to acknowledge that.

- You haven't tackled anything, cauz I didn't move past the first point you refuse to acknowledge. If we can't agree on basics, there is no point in moving to all other aspects.

- Squad management is not responsible for Messi's own decline. You, Messi fanboys, have always liked to point to others when it comes to failures, and only to Messi when it comes to successes. Messi could not be competitive at club level at any team past 2019.
That's a fact

PS: You are right. In general, one should not make arguments based on age.
I did not try to discredit every thing you said based on age, but only one particular aspect: that you refuse so blatantly to acknowledge any negatives about Messi in general.
That is a problem and that is very often a symptom of a young age.
- Then you really can't make a conclusion/determination on a player's level on that 1 game only vs the European Champion, especially if that's the only game you watched of a player in the past 2 years or so.

- You mentioned retain possession without moving = dribbling, Busi is well re-known for that so he should be up there, but he isn't and that's a fact.

- The only evidence that you provided to me is your perception of the eye test. Other people with their own eye tests who watched the same game and player concluded that Messi is still at the level + players' stats of Sofascore (I provided you the stats) + statement from well-known player. I know where I would slide towards.

- I already mentioned this, even if you take out dribbling, Messi is still one of the best passers, one of the best playmakers, one of the best shooters and etc. You don't need to be 18/19 season dribbling to make it at Europe. Even then, his dribbling as of this moment is still good enough.

- Tell me the point that I refused to acknowledge and let me tackle on that point.

- Squad Management is of course taking into account for every players' strength and weaknesses, and that is no different to assessing Messi's strength and weaknesses. In this case, the top management of the clubs need to make sensible decisions and if they don't, then of course they need to be accountable.

- Messi could not be competitive at club level past 2019 is false. He had 25G/21A in 19/20 season and won La Liga top scorer in 20/21 season

- I already mentioned a negative about Messi which is the acceleration, so the notion that you said that I don't acknowledge any negative about Messi is false already.

That RB-RW and LB-LW combo is just unfair

Gonna go with PSG 4-1 Madrid
Indeed.

Having seen that team I was gonna go 3-1. But I already locked my pick as 2-1 PSG on Superbru before seeing the teams. I normally play conservatively when heavyweight sides meet.

But yeah, wouldn't be surprised if Real Madrid get what is coming to them, the scabby cunts.

What I like about PSG too is how fluid their forward line is. No out and out number 9, just three very tricky, quick and deceptive forwards interchanging and linking up.

I expect a few blunders from The Maniac and The director. While on the other side Touchu playing like Casemiro and Busquets fusion and Guler showing he is a CM. Upfront Vini and Mbappe shake off their emo phase and wreck PSG defense, which also is totally caught by surprise with Garcia dude. 3:5, imo.

Madrid wins the tourney and then invests in Barca Vision so that his buddy Laporta avoids another default.

VAMOS!

p.s: i may be wrong!

I know it's been said in previous games, but really hope this players being announced individually doesn't infect football in Europe in future. Hope it's just a quirk of this tournament.
