- 'Just look at YT' is not an answer. You have to show me the supposed disproval of my claim.
I presented you relevant clips from 18/19 that support my point.

- The specific is clear: he can't dribble and run like he used to in congested spaces and areas. His mind has the right idea but his body can't follow. That's why many times he resorts to just keeping the ball without progressing, like the case I pinpointed from your clip

- No, it's not a choice that he passes more. It's also inability to make the run himself and finish the situation. These moments tonight where he had acres of space are indicative
- Lol you just showed me a 18/19 compilation (that shows the best part of the season only) and just said to me "Watch this compilation and tell me which moves his current version could do against the same defenders." I've been more specific of the exact games in recent times like vs Porto and vs Colombia to disprove your claim so yes YT is the answer lol

- Watch the game again. He did vs PSG, he did vs Porto, he did vs Colombia. He even dribbled Mendes more times Yamal did.

- Of course it is a choice. Football 101 is passing progresses the play a lot faster than running with the ball. Also why are you ignoring the fact that he was injured throughout the tournament? Anyone that played football knows that you would rather pass the ball than run when you are freakin injured lol Even then he ran with the ball a lot throughout the tournament.

The general consensus is that he can still play elite level and he left Europe too early. Your hate for Messi is blinding you mate.

Dude, listen:
you are getting tiresome because you can't admit you were wrong and keep avoiding answering a specific point.

You asked for specifics, I provided one clear specific:
his ability to run via dribbling in tight spaces versus many people. That was trademark Messi quality.

- I provided you with evidence: The first 3 min of the comp I posted shows that skill of 2018-9 Messi in many instances (at least 20, I can go through them one by one if you want)

Compare that to the (at least) 5 times he received vs PSG not in congested areas, but in open space on the counter, and he could not do the same.

- Now you say he did it vs Porto and Colombia. Show me the evidence if you have. The burden of proof falls on the shoulder on the one making a claim

- You resort to the excuse that he was injured. OK, if that is the case, show me his non-injured current version doing it against defenders like PSG's

- Finally, you deflate my claim that he passes more than running these days by resorting to generalities about football in general. Yeah, I know ball moves faster than a runner in general.
but my point is specific: old Messi (from 2018 for instance) would finish himself by running dribbling and shooting the 5 occasions he received in open space against PSG on the counter.
Simple point

PS: There is no point in discussing other specifics, if we can't agree on this simple one.

I think what Soul says is his ball ability didnt decrease really, for his age it's still on top level

But he is slower and take more rests during the games than in 2019

I remember the home game vs Liverpool where he was everywhere and everytime he had the ball on his feet he was running with it in a super pace
