In that sense we are not quite there yet I feel, which is why I assume many fans don't think we will get the final tickets in Milano. Not our thing in the Champions League.

It is a very important match for us, something we almost never done before. We bottled more CL ties away than we sentenced.
Believe in Flick until the final minutes in Milano.
What I saw from Flick's Barça yesterday, is something which I have never seen before in a UCL semi final game. To go down 2-0 at home and then come back to draw 2-2 within 17 minutes is historical. I do not think any Barça team or any team to be exact did this before in 1 game.

With this exceptional mentality why not believe that the team is capable of winning in Milano and reaching the final?

I believe in the team no doubt. Besides, we will leave it all down there in the pitch, every energy left.

Need to beat Valladolid next though. The league game is important. Even if the main players are rested, need to be pros and get the job done.

One thing is for sure. For good or for worse, Flick Barca is a guarantee that you'll see the best matches. Barca fans drool at the offensive plays, haters drool at our blunders in defense, neutrals get to see goal fests... there's a huge proposition for anyone to not miss our games.

Unless we win big with this of course. If we win big, then all of them will start to say Flick Barca is boring.

Early goal, after 30 seconds.
We wouldn't even have a chance at CL or Liga without Yamal and his natural intelligence. Xavi and Flick aren't responsible for Yamal other than playing him.

Also I doubt there's ever been a greater disparity in player quality on a team as we have with Yamal and Martin.

Messi and Douglas on the same wing was painfully sad.

Douglas knew he wasn't up to it.

By comparison, 14-15 Barca with peak MSN:

1-3 L RM
2-3 L PSG
3-1 W PSG
3-1 W AM
2-1 W City
1-0 W City
3-1 W PSG
2-0 W PSG
3-0 W Bayern
2-3 L Bayern (dead rubber tbh, since we were winning 5-1 overall at HT)
2-1 W RM
1-0 W AM
1-0 W AM
3-2 W AM
3-1 W Juve

15 games, 12 W, 3 L

32 goals scored, 17 conceded.

Prime MSN averaged just over 2 goals per game in big games, but the defense was much tighter.

City, PSG, Bayern, Juve, even AM were the best teams around and much better than the current itterations(bar maybe PSG?).

They also faced what is probably the hardest KO run to win a CL ever. All teams were champions and very good teams at the time.

How did the 2014-15 side play the gala XI so frequently yet they didn't suffer much injuries. It feels like Enrique's Barça was such an anamoly statistically, it is really depressing that we somewhat underperformed in a way. Should've won 2 UCLs but it wasn't meant to be I guess.

That 14/15 yes MSN remained fresh.. but they also were only really MSN in second half of season.

In more than one game they would take the match off more or less defensively and all three stay up park daring opposition to commit men forward v them.

The following seasons though.. MSN looked tired and did very little in CL biggest games as eliminated.

Lucho's debut season had two faces. Barca had the overweight Suarez banned for months after his Chiellini cannibalism and was way off shape. Things clicked after an early January loss to Sociedad IIRC.

I agree. 14/15 is the best side I’ve seen v big teams as evidenced by treble + 80% win proportion (basically 100% after MSN clicked).

But Hansi putting 3 goals on average versus big teams this season with the players he has is kinda insane.

I agree. As a coaching achievement Flick has done more than Enrique who had unbelievable squad. Once in a lifetime team.

Lucho did not play gala XI during the first hald of that season. He rotated agressively iirc.
