He's had a very stop and start season due to injuries, but he's generally been good.

Can be frustrating, but that's just how he plays, he's a keeper see what the new coach can get out of him, unless the right offer comes in.

He's a great squad player. Well intentioned, plays with a lot heart, unselfish and hardworking. He's just too average of a footballer to start at Barcelona.

I am not sure what his ceiling technique wise but I am sure he is putting a lot of mental pressure on him in certain spots and suffers from that. Fact he was engaging fans on instagram that were criticizing him says a lot.

Nah he can start for us, just needs a FB to play off to really fully unlock him.

But with yamal coming through, it's a moot point.

He had energy but obviously his ceiling isn't high as he makes a lot of mistakes.

Good match for him.

Nah.

At this point it is very clear what his pluses and minuses are.

He is a B player that ranks very high in some key areas (workrate, physicality, these are huge areas for the modern game).

Raphinha has 1 G/A per 93 mins played this season.

Yamal has 1 G/A per 148 mins played this season.

He did pretty much what Dembele used to do for Barca. Some nice goals/assists/runs and a whole bunch of easily wasted opportunities (skying a shot/ not making the easy pass.)

Nah he's the exact opposite of Dembele. Dembele was a chance-creating machine and the main source of danger but his volume was not translated into G+A. Raphinha plays like shit but knows how to penetrate the box and threaten with his runs, so he affects the game by G+A. Now their output is pretty similar in terms of G+A numbers but Dembele is far more useful

Simplest way to put it is that Dembele is more useful in a possession based system due to his superior dribbling ability. Raphinha is superior in a counter attacking team. They are very different players style-wise, with different qualities and flaws.

Both create chances and are very good players, but do so differently.

I'd change that to positional team rather than static team, compared to possession vs counter attacking.

But yeah, agree with you.

Rafinha has shown what he brings. He may be better under a manager with more offensive ideas. Xavi needed a more individual option which you could possibly put down to his inexperience of his managerial limitations.

But Raphinha will be solid for any tier 1 side, just as Alexis was. But best for us if we can sell and re-invest. Ferran and Raphi provide basic the same benefit. Except Ferran can play both wide positions and is younger.
