Joan Laporta

Laporta has his flaws and created many enemies in recent years. But I have to give him credit for his resilience facing all adversaries that wanted to hurt the club. And he overcame all those.

Victor Font - no one will ever know what he's capable of. Promises transparency and honesty. Well, those don't work anymore in politics. Empty.
First part I agree.

Second part: Font transparency and honesty?

Remember the Olmo saga last January? Was Tebas his best friend then?

From one week to the next..

Is that it? Olmo signature?

Signing Tebas praises again in last few weeks.

Tebas works for the league and is voted in by likes of Laporta.

If anything on that Olmo signing the league fucked up and accepted accounts they possibly shouldnt have which helped Barca.

All this talking is irrelevant because the fact of the matter is this, Steve Jobs doesn't deserve credit for bring Apple from the brink of bankruptcy, because their is only one way they could have gone, anyone that came in would have done the same thing. I

Him hiring jony Ive is the only thing that kept the shareholders off his back.

the dumbojam logic.

Kindergarten argumentation by both Jamrock and Serghei
Wouldn't say I am surprised, cauz both have serious problems with arguing soundly and logically

- Finances are not judged on FFP, which (as Jammy said) was mandatory from LL, would have happened with anyone, as the club was obliged to comply

The real measure whether finances improved is the CHOICES fatporta made that could have been othewise
namely: a) Levers, b) Bartomeuesque wages he gave out (to Lewa, Gundo, Kounde, etc.)

- 'Lewy being successful because he scored X number of goals in 4 years'
Anyone who has any sense of numbers beyond surface-level, knows there are far more sophisticated metrics, like goals per min, goals per xG (real conversion rate), xG, etc.,
as well as factors such as creation, association, link-up, which are important for a Barca striker

And the elephant in the room: was he worthy the wages he received given his age, and his resale value (0)?
Was there a better alternative for the future of the club, like betting on a younger super talent, and keeping experienced striker (like Auba) on low wages for experience/cover?

From the lad who claimed CVC was a good deal.

From the lad who claimed getting all Nike money upfront would be good for Barca.

From the lad who believed Barca would be getting 1m a day for Camp Nou.

Dumb yank.

Even dumber to compare Apple to Barca.. dumb yank.

Barca were never going bankrupt... clueless claim. No one was refusing to take out loans and refinance the debt. It is a moronic claim.

Awful.

But aye go tell us how Xavi, Messi, Planchart, Txiki, Soriano and anyone who doesnt buy Laportas shite that they all want to destroy Barca.

Best thing he did was sack Xavi and prove the 'Barca are years away from Real Madrid' nonsense.

That and punting Gundo that summer and getting in a coach that understood how to play likes of Pedri deeper all good moves.

Some folk here wanted Xavi for 'years' and claimed he was correct on squad and Gundo would simply never ever be punted by Laporta.

The European results under Xavi probably lost near on 150m and being in better place by now and renewing him and team wasted more money but they caught up in end to what many had been saying.

Had he kept Xavi, he would’ve lost the elections.

Bad omen to presidential campaigns.

Indeed and many wanted Xavi at club for years and used to gloat about Laporta never getting rid.

Wanted to see Gundo and Lewa on pitch together and Pedri playing up at AM.

Credit where it is due for changing that.. could have been done earlier but was done in end and Flick with more positivity and less excuses than Xavi makes a big difference.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
His 4th term is bound to be a successful one.

We have best core of young footballers in the world and we have elite, world class talents to build around in every department.

In these 5 years, I expect at least 2 CL titles

Don't say that, because they will use that as a barometer to beat him with next. The truth is, is that, unless finances take a significant upturn, the likelihood of which is minisCULE, we've got absolutely no business even winning one Champions League title, let alone two.

To dominate domestically is a miracle already in itself. We can't forget that.

You can tell the Laporta detractors are going to demand unrealistic things from him in order to prove they are not wrong. Let's not give them any ammo.
