Karim Benzema

🚨 Nuno Espírito Santo has reportedly informed the Al-Ittihad board that Karim Benzema does not fit into his tactical style. 👀

He wasn't keen on signing the Ballon d'Or winner in the first place, which is leading to tension between the two men.

The Portuguese manager also rejected Benzema's request for the captain's armband. ©️❌

Therefore, the Frenchman is 'not comfortable' working in the current environment at the Saudi club, perhaps opening the door to a shock transfer.
Benz scored 3 goals in his 3 matches and they lost only to al hilal which is a top3 team, first two league matches are won, results wise they were fantastic with Big Benz

The second striker excuse is used far too much to explain his poor goal record in his early Madrid career.

The facts are he was playing in a super team against shitters most weeks. He was still getting, and missing, easy chances every week, despite not being the main guy. That's why he was constantly booed by the Bernabeu and that's why he scored as little as 5 goals in one season.

Let's face it, this guy has had one INCREDIBLE season in the Champions League and that has managed to make everyone overrate him and make excuses for the fact that he was a 👻 for long periods of his career.

Unbelievably, there are those that think that one INCREDIBLE season in the Champions League makes him better than our own Pistol Suarez, when in truth he was half the player.

Thank you for your attention in this matter !

Benzema has been a support striker for most of his career. One can only imagine what he could have achieved individually had he been the main man from the start. CR7 the better player obviously
No. He was an inconsistent finisher and went through big dry spells of poor form.

Had nothing to do with CR7 holding him back. Rooney was absolutely shining alongside CR7 while having way more defensive and pressing duties than Benzema.

There was a time when Benzema and Higuain used to rotate equally for Real Madrid.

For ages, their president and fans tried to sign RL9 and other strikers like Aubameyang and Aguero.

The revisionism regarding Benzema's career is the biggest example of a PR whitewashing exercise in the sport.

No one who actually followed the game through those years will buy this crap.

His all round game was excellent but his finishing and instincts as a striker were mediocre.

For most of his career, he was rated below the likes of Zlatan and Aguero. We all knew this at the time. The Madridiots did too. Too bad that their memory span is even lesser than their IQ!

There was a time when Football fans turned him into a meme and a punchline.

No shit Rooney was shining alongside CR7 at Man United. Early CR was a different beast and player altogether compared to his Madrid career post-2010. He was a pure winger with increasingly voluminious G+A output (not to mention he had actual defensive duties compared to his RM years until his last 08/09 season there). Even then, Rooney was a second/support striker and never got more than 16 league goals while he played with Ronaldo. In fact, most goals he scored while playing with CR was just 23 in all competitions.

Of course Benzema and other RM strikers had to accomodate their game to account for CR's movement to create space for him in the box and regularly drifted to the left wing. And yes, Benzema had lots of spells of poor goalscoring form. Both can be true, you are pushing a false dichotomy.

[MARCA] Benzema: "We no longer bother to look at what a guy does on pitch, just who scores. And the next day, we consider him the best. It's happened to me: I play a bad game, I score and they see me as the best. It has become a sport where you look at the statistics only. I don't really like it."

Benzema also had spells where his all round game (which is normally great) was poor not just stats. Rooney on the other hand, always contributed and was more consistent in terms of performances and effort even when he didn't score. Rooney did his basics to a very high level consistently. He also had a more defensive role than Benzema dropping much deeper often and pressing like an animal.

IIRC Benzema finished a league season with 5 league goals despite being Real Madrid's main striker. That is an embarrassing return for a starting striker at Getafe, forget Real Madrid!
