With the away goals rule gone, this result basically makes the first leg completely and utterly irrelevant.

Players are not mentally ands physically drained.

Newcastle players got a day less rest and played Man Utd with 10 men for large spells, played City and rotated less.

Less rest, better opposition and less rotation.

If Barca players are drained from that game v Atletico it is more of a worry.

They lacked quality last night against a poorer Newcastle team out of form and missing most of best playes from starting line up.

Lets not count Barca win away in Bilbao.. 'as dont win bar that Yamal screamer'.

Result in isolation is ok but got away with one and performance was terrible.

Genuinely looked like Newcastle v lower league team in cup. The most dominant they have been in weeks v anyone.

OK, so team is fresh, not exhausted and drained physically, squad is much better than Newcastle, and we played like shit and Newcastle dominated us like they dominated a Championship side.

Biggest problems atm are Raphi and Ferran/Lewy. 2 out of 3 offense players dont perform currently and with this high line we need players to create and score. Rashy is also sleeping too much during a game.

Maybe we should try Lamine in the middle again, Rooney on RW so Raphi,Lewy,Lamine playing closer together

Said same yetserday.. would have taken Yamal off wing.

Hall was getting better of him and too much left to wait on ball in game Barca cant take control of.

Raph could have gone RW even and told to try and limit Hall more than anything as he was coasting on ball.

Olmo at AM and closer to Pedri/Bernal also to help them as were being physically out matched too often and looked slow.

That nothing has changed. You were oblivious to squad issues 2 years ago, and you're still pretending this is not true despite all the evidence in the world to support it.

You don't have to be Einstein to figure the issue out. Short squad -> overplaying of main players -> long term fatigue in next season -> more injuries -> more dependent on depth -> more issues because depth is shite -> more shite performances -> more losses -> ... potentially a trashing looming, thankfully Bayern is not in our side.
