Xavi Hernández

Disgusting move. With this interview he only proved what a small man he is and that Laporta and Co. were completely right when they fired him. He also proved that he puts himself first, because you don’t do something like this during election week. Pathetic!

Not nice on his part to try and destabilise the club at this time of the season. The club does not need any problems at the moment as we enter the business end of the season. Truly sad at how Xavi became as a manager, he didn’t seem this self absorbed as a player.

Maybe the truth isn't entirely on this side or another.

With Laporta it's usually his habit of telling lies or saying something and then going back on it. Probably using guys like this Echevarría to do the dirty work.

With politics it's often like this. It's interest over friends.

A club legend like Xavi should never be an instrument in hand of one or another candidate. Unfortunately his IQ is lower than I thought. Same goes for Messi. Why the hell would you allow yourself to be in a center of the campaign of any presidential candidate? A plain stupidity from both of them.

Additionally, what the hell does Victor Font even offer? All he does is bring up the names of club legends and plaster them on building walls and in newspapers. I really hope some new name will come out for 2030 elections because this is pathetic.

Nah, Laporta can't have it both ways. He milked Messi's support to get the presidency, now he has to also face the other side of the coin.

Again, a plain stupidity from players to allow that. Neither Font or Laporta should be able to do that. They should present their programs and their vision of the club in the future. This should be the purpose of this debate and not why someone didn't sign a 36y old former player.

It's purely about egos. I would also think this is more Xavi fighting Messi's fight who is pissed that they didn't bring him back (see that statement how he didn't even shake Laporta's hand at the Ballon d'Or gala) than anything else.

I don't see how this transfer was even on the cards unless Messi accepted a lower salary on Lewandowski level, accepted being a sub like Lewa in many games and also accepted that Yamal has to see more of the ball. Individually, even 50 year old Messi will be better than Ferran but collectively once everyone starts passing him the ball again just because he is Messi we could never play the current free-flowing Flickball.

Messi is without a doubt a footballing God and undisputable GOAT and Xavi is a club legend. However, the truth is that Laporta got rid of them both on time.

A lot of cope here for the shady dealings by the board. Surprisingly even by Xavistas.
People fail to see that they could still be detrimental to club.

Xavi is right to say these things, the only thing I hold against him is the timing.
Dumbest thing to have come out now.
Should’ve placed gag order on interview until summer.

If his intentions were good why he waited for this until now? And why did he do this 7 days before the elections. It's all about his ego and nothing more. In this case it's all about timing.

This club has been a circus on the politics front since forever. I guess it's part of the course to have scandals at every turn.

Because there is a good chance it gets discussed in the debates and probably with Font discussed what some of the topics they will go at.

But its not a strong line.

The Echeverria one could be but to make it a Xavi pity party absolutely not.

Again, if you love this club, and I hope Xavi does, you should put your ego behind this and move on. This accusations are on the verge of absurd and if Font only has this cards to play than he should be nowhere near the club. No one is aying Laporta is the ideal president but in comparison to Font he is a jackpot.
