9 - Robert Lewandowski

Nah won more in both league titles when he missed games.

Scored more last season also.

He has spoken how he changed to suit dressing room more than any player changing for him so we can keep this 'changed the dressing room' myth.

Also those same players that are indebted to this great influence.. never once voted him as a captain.

His attitude towards the young players was fairly ropey until he realised he was not the main man and then starts to act like a teenager with Yamal etc for self preservation.

Scored goals but nothing amazing and not for 150m odd with nothing at end of.

It's crazy that it's already 4 years since Bayern didn't want to give him more than a 1 year contract while our idiots will extend him even now that his ridiculous long contract finally ends.

Evidently, Bayern is better with their money.
Not as nonchalant
Got him free - squeezed the best juice out of him - sold him for 50 mil (was it?) while they could. Nothing beats that business model.

He plays less, that's good. Tapering off his play time means less fatigue for crucial events in the leage and the CL, then the NT World Cup play offs. God help, the World Cup too.

His form almost always diminished towards the seasons end. The work rate he exerted himself into the training and the game couldn't be sustainable. The natural fatigue played the factor of diminished returns, if not counter productive effects.

Evidently, those putting Ferran, or whatever insignificant name ahead of him, couldn't understand how irreplaceable he is. They can see it already but wait and see when he is gone for good.
BVB missed him until after they found Halland. Bayern, until they found Kane.
You'll miss him too.

Herr Flick must figure out something quickly.
His chess openings depended on the queen piece moving forward, creating havoc in the opponent defensive structures. Exchange the queens and the play resembles the running of a chicken with chopped off head.
Without procurement of someone worthy Lewandowski, the strategy will fold down like a house of cards.
Either they'll procure at least someone like Kane or Flick will be sacked quicker than anybody expects.
I have a feeling that when Lewandowski is gone, Herr Flick will be gone soon after too.

Lewa and Ferran have thus far supplemented each other. But when the both go into the form coma and their presence is moot, the problem manifests itself rapidly.
Not qualifying to the league cup final and the last game marginal win is enough evidence.

At this point it doesn't matter if Lewa is old and past it, or that his movement is much slower due to age. He has no competition but Ferran Torres, and this means he has no competition.

Take the goal Lewandowski scored vs Madrid in the Supercup final. Torres is not capable of that finish. Torres had plenty of chances to take over and he fucked it up because that's what he does when the expectations go up. He disappoints.

Torres has had better goals than that and more goals when played through in that way.

Lewa is still the better finisher but struggling to get on end of things.

Take the game yesterday.. was an absolute non entity when on.

Pick your poison when both playing like are now.

My nephew's Bundesliga record of 41 in jeopardy?
There are 9 more games remaining. So far, Kane has got 30 goals. He needs 12 more...Doable but tough.
I don't want to be an asshole and wish him fail. If he gets it, then good for him. Good sport. However, if he does not get it this time, the record will stay there for another 40 years.
