Alexander Sorloth

Didnt find a thread for this fella so I did it. He is 6`5", 220lbs, roughly 30 years old, scores tons of goals if given service and his heading has shades of Luca Toni. For a big guy he is quite fast, has a decent technique and as a Nordic person, has a great attitude and a work-ethic. The problem? He plays for Cholo. If he was playing for a attack-minded coach&team, his numbers would be sky-high. The solution? We should buy him! All this talk about your Kanes and Haalands, Sorloth is just as capable. Next summer we should ship the Polish dinosaur and get this Aryan viking instead. Who`s with me?

He has the potential to give you one big season. But I don't think you should sign him outright and expect 2-3 season consistent outcome.

One of those you try and loan for sure, if he is out of favour and Atleti need to wage dump next summer.

Don't see that happening though.

Scored goals at a better rate than Lewa from open play in La Liga since both been in league.

For far poorer teams and much less of a cost.

Then again Auba and LDJ had better rate from open play than Lewa in league and Ferran has the past season and bit since played CF regularly.

Paid 150m odd for Lewa over his contract and get nothing at end of it.

Must be close to 200m+ spent on players in mid 30s who get nothing for and then lack depth.

Top stuff.

Think they needed to sign a big name and we couldn't cover the big transfer and noone else was available. Or interested in that gloomy time.

While Lewa's goal return has been ok, it's the glaring poor team play (no assists) and lack of press that's problematic.
And now counting in the amortization with the wages factored in and no chance of re-sale, the transfer does seem a poor one.

In hindsight, we could have signed someone else on a cheap with similar return.
