9 - Robert Lewandowski

He cannot make a difference in games like this in 20 minutes while the rest of the team is in collapse mode. I still don't want him to continue as he is done physically, but let's not blame an 18 minute sub for this trash performance.

All you so-called experts here don’t understand one thing. Lewandowski is the kind of player who needs to play in order to be in form. I’ve been following his career very closely for 20 years; he has had weaker moments both in the national team and at clubs. But this guy needs minutes and 2–3 goals, and then his confidence returns to a normal level, and he starts scoring again. Most “experts” here have no idea about this.

Look at this team! Even Haaland wouldn’t help here. There’s no play for the striker, 30 dribbling attempts by Yamal, Raphinha, Rashford, etc. Remind me, when was the last time Lewandowski received a long ball over the defenders while running into the box? How many times has he tried to do it, but the midfielders were blind? Lewandowski finished these situations perfectly at other clubs and with the national team, but here he doesn’t — why? Because there are no passes!

And it’s not his fault — let’s be honest — Barcelona currently has a weak squad, but above all, a terrible defense.

Lewy isn't a super sub.

He has always been a starter.

It would make much more sense to use Ferran as the super sub because he's only good against tired legs.

Flick isn't using Lewy correctly. And currently he's paying for this.

Pressing doesn't win you games. Goals do. Lewy is a match winner.

Pressing doesn't win you games.
It literally does. Specifically these lower LL games vs these teams with shit quality

But I agree with you. Ferran despite being 10 years younger is not any better than he is in terms of pressing or overall commitment. Or, of course, skill and ability on the ball

Flick should go back to Lewa and even though that likely won't solve many things, Ferran has earned himself a spot on the bench

Soon enough he's going to be missed not only by the Polish NT but here as well.
That's merciless physio-biological laws and nothing can be done about it by anyone nor anything. He himself cannot help it ... Nor can even Anna with here miracle fitness cookies.

Don't you forget, his signing up here was for the purpose of making the transition smooth. The transition from the team of Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Suarez....to what is now.
He has done more what he was asked for plus more...worth every penny.

Laughable are those who come to this thread to have a say about his sub par performances in this or that match.
Especially when he comes on for the last 20 minutes.
It is like criticizing Husain Bolt for not beating his World records any more.

He still would've gotten the equalizer had it not been offside...He actually added some attacking fuel, no matter what.
