Mickey Mouse cup was definitely an open game, maybe we had the edge with 1-2 chances(not that big but OK). Otherwise we still won trough a deflected shot and could have lost the plot in the end if not for Madrid missing chances.
"We won the game but we could have lost."

You truly are a genius. I never would have thought of this honestly.

Especially against Real Madrid, a team that has maybe 4-5 all time great footballers in the current lineup. Seriously who would think there is a possibility you lose

Not even the extended highlights of the Chelsea game do you justice. Bar the Ferran miss we didn't do shit all game. You are pressing hard for a stupid argument.

Newcastle is middle of the table in England. Them having ups and downs don't make them a consistently better team than Chelsea or Atletico, even more so in Europe where pedigree does matter.

Madrid was wobbly as fuck, they were grinding some wins but nothing concrete. Spanish press was having Xabi sacked before every game. That's why he was one foot out the door before final and it blew wide open at the end when everyone saw how much the dressing room respected him.

Fact of the matter is we haven't played good football all season long. We're conceding against every team out there and are relying on attack bailing us out. When that doesn't work we are fucked. Sure, just like for Madrid, you can count the wins for stats, but it's hard to have an idea on the quality when you meet big teams and get outplayed.

You are trying hard to prove the earth is flat, but I won't do any favors to you

- Watch extended highlights again until the red card, and give me the big chances for each team. goals ruled out by var are not chances

- No it was not an open game. Madrid found goals out of pure luck (like the Gonzalo goal). we were dominating them in every aspect of the game. IF you can't admit that, something is wrong in your head

- Newcastle have played twice CL in the last 3 years, have won Carabao, and is clearly better team than UTD and Spurs, at some points better than Chelsea as well.

- We have played quite good football after the Chelsea 3-0 game and up until last week's Atleti game. Worse than our best football last season, but still top football considering what's out there.
That's just a fact. Open your eyes and admit it.

I am a Flick fan but he doesn't seem to understand that these Spanish and La Masia players are not Übermensch. He doesn't have a bunch of physical specimens here. He has to adapt accordingly. Running them into the ground is not the answer.
Apparently the players have advised greater pragmatism in regards to certain matches and tactics. Let's see if that has an affect.
His method works but it works much better when you have a bunch of robust players willing to run game in, game out. He will lose the dressing season at this rate. Despite Madrid being total shit, they are two points ahead, albeit with a game in hand. This season could easily go pear shaped if we have to deal with more injuries and officiating bs.

You can put prime Maldini in the defense and he may struggle too if playing highline every games for years. You simply can not outrun the ball.

Flick knows his tactic more than anyone. He believes Barca's offensive prowess can compensate for the highline, a worthy trade off. But this season the team in general isn't as good as last year. The attacking trio Yamal - Lewy - Raphinha barely start and only Yamal can perform at top level consistently. Raphinha struggles with injuries, Lewy is 37, Ferran is very inconsistent, Rashford is okish.

What favors are you doing to me, you pathetic weasel?

Chelsea vs Barcelona - live score, predicted lineups and H2H stats https://share.google/NEwHhngp1A6X7b5rW

Big chances created by Barca all game - 1

Gonzalo goal is lucky, Raphinha deflected goal is not. Yup, you're a moron.

Newcastle played twice CL vs Chelsea and Atletico who were in advanced stages of CL for decades now. Who the fuck asked anything about Utd or Spurs?!

Good football against some mediocre to poor sides. Even then conceding a ton of goals. Probably Brugge is another CL behemoth.

Apparently some players are fed up with being criticised by Flick for mistakes Flick himself is responsible for. And rightly so. Players demand more pragmatic tactics knowing that this shit never will work against big teams. Players have more tactical awareness than Bumsi. What a joke this coach is.

Sources for these claims are mostly usual bullshit

Chelsea were better before it but the red card also more or less takes away any chance Barca have to adjust.

1-0 up through Kounde og and then Araujo red but they were the more dominant side prior to that.

Yeah starting games bad is actually common for this team

Especially big games. You look at last season, we've gone 2-0 down in early stages of match to Inter 2x, Real, Atletico... But then managed to come back in all those matches. If we got a red after those 2 goals, we would probably face a smashing though
