Probably a good time to put this game up here. One of the greatest remontadas in our history , a Copa quarter final in 1996-97.

3 things struck me about this game.

1) How blatantly referees would rob us back then. Atletico's penalty is laughable and the foul on Figo is a clear red, even for those days, but typically wasn't given.

2) The customary goalkeeper error that led to their 4th goal after our attackers had done so well to get us back in the game.

3) The crowd reaction to Pizzi's late winner was as passionate a fan reaction as I have ever seen to a goal, and what attracted me to the club in the first place. How I miss those days.

I remember this vividly. Recorded the highlights on VHS and watched that Pizzi goal over and over again.

One of the greatest Barcelona matches of all time. This comeback probably was the best comeback the club has ever had after the 6-1 in 2017. That 1996-97 probably the best Barcelona side of all time to never win LaLiga or the Champions League, this happened on the fact Ronaldo skipped the final 2 games of the season for a friendly tournament in France with the Brazilian national team. Real Madrid won LaLiga with 92 pts and Barcelona finished 2nd with 90 pts.

That would be a major blow to Barca's firepower with only Ferran and Yamal left to do the heavy lifting in the offesive compartment while the latter is still nowhere near the form he showed last season. Rash is sometimes good in big matches but he clearly isn't the one to rely on to win you games.
