19 - Roony Bardghji

Main reason is that's he's simply too slow to be a winger for us (or most other teams for that matter). So what if he gets past his defender on the wing, he'll get caught up in 2 seconds...

Against low blocks this barely matter, once you get past your defender you have all the option to open things for yourself and your teammates instantly.

In a more balanced approach, once you learn how to shield defenders with your back while running, again, it barely matters (Salah is a master of this after he got old, he beat faster defenders by that)

It only hurts in counter attacks, but even then, once you have a faster option, using dribble then pass can be effective.

Roony will be fine, he can build value here and eventually get sold for a profit. He is the best RW backup we had since Dembele & Raphinha combo in 22/23 season.

He'll be fine, but just not in Barca imho.

I really like his intelligence and technique, and he's hardly mature and peak fit. I'd like to take a fancy with guy like him. If he turns out good, he will be super good. Think something on Kwitcha level. Not the archetypal winger that thrives with pace in space, but somewhat more tricky Villa type inside winger. And Yamal does need some relief, you know. Would be absurd to get rid of him asap even if want to sell. Let's build him at least 1 level up. Flick will make sure of that.

I don't think Flick is too keen on him and Casado, despite when both have good performances.

Seem to just lack the physical profile for him long term. Or atleast that's the impression I get.

In Casados case it has kind of been proven right, and he has been below par for some time now.

He's still very young and competing with Lamine.

It's not like he was a regular destroying the Danish league, even then he was an unpolished youngster and then came ACL. Logically he picks up where he left off, with lots to still to be improved

Sell, he has 0 chance making it here - especially if players like Bisiwu join and Tunkara getting minutes next season...

What da fuck guys? This boy was praised at the start of the year, now wants him crucified and sold. Take it easy guys. Not everyone will perform astronomically great like Lamine.
It's just one guy tbh

Some people think if you don't have incredible level of speed you are cooked as winger in football. But you can compensate with some other things. As long as you are not too slow which Roony really isn't you can do well.

Also he just came back from ACL. Think he was even much faster before it.

He's much better than dozens of these come-and-go wingers that get hyped up by certain nigs here just cuz they be fast and such. Baargee is way more intelligent and sophisticated in his play than any of them, which can absolutely trump the raw athleticism and pace, if sufficient level. We see what raw pace and athleticism is in Rashford. Do we want more of this? Is that the Barca way? Which way, Barca man?

Don't rate him particularly high at this point but he's doing a great job of coming in for trash minutes behind the world's best AMR.

By comparison Guily couldn't do it behind Messi.

If Onion was full starter at a Lyon or something, would be getting huge praise by the football community. Said before but that would have probably been a better career move for him.

No doubt. I like him, but he isn't a good fit for us as a winger. He has talent, he'll probably make it somewhere in Italy, France, Germany or even England. I reports are true we secured Bisiwu and Tunkara keeps evolving we're more than covered on the wings. I also think Roony would be a much better fit as a second striker / CAM...

Tunkara is an AM/SS who is also injury prone from what I've read.

Bisiwu is LW, slmost exclusive there

Nomoko and Diarra are the only worthy RW in the youth who close to first team (not some 14 years old kids). Diarra is more of AM himself and lost this sesson to injuries, Nomoko had tornACL and we will be lucky if he finishes next season in the same form he had early on.

Then we have Dani Rodriguez, who is miles below Roony atm.

Roony is 6th in the picking order in the front 3, he is fine in that role.

Much better than either Pau Victor or Fati who were 5th and 6th options last year.
