Camp Nou

Judging from the models, the finished thing will be a rather generic modern stadium. Obviously partial to the old design, which did have a lot of distinguishing character. But can't be too bothered.
i am afraid so. i am bit nostalgic, it would hurt me personally. for example i am still bothered by that gap one on corner, wich was not there before.

I wouldn't underestimate the greed of FIFA. They are the body that decides on the venues. Bigger capacity (105k compared to 84k Bernabeu), more tickets, more money.

Also Spain doesn't have a designated national stadium.
The 20k seats won't be nearly enough to convince FIFA to risk provoking Spain. FIFA is also all about good and happy propaganda during their tournaments. Spanish media would open their biggest shitstorm yet under the leadership of Perez, if Camp Nou gets the final. And most of their money comes from sponsors and corruption anyways. The money from additional 20k seats is less than Infantino's pocketchange.

Realistically, 0.0% chance.

edit: Also funny, that this clown of mayor is speaking for the Camp Nou, while he does everything to slow down the construction.

It will be Bernabeu 100%. The politicians can't allow that the finals of the "Spanish" WC will be played in Catalunya.

Official: Barcelona bid to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final at Spotify Camp Nou

Finally after so long, we try to host the European Cup final. We hosted 2 finals, 1989 and 1999. 1989 we witnessed an exhibition of football by Sacchi's Milan where they absolutely obliterated Steaua 4-0 with goals from Gullit and Van Basten. 1999 we witnessed one of the greatest football matches of all time where Man United came back from 1-0 to win 2-1 against Bayern within a span of 3 minutes, insane drama. The worst thing though about 1999 was that both Bayern and Man United were in our group and we wanted to win that UCL so badly at home.

30 years after 1999, Barcelona look completely different to what they were like in 1999. So far, we didn't reach 2029 (obviously) but over the past 26 years now, Barcelona has been one of the most successful teams in Europe, they have won 4 Champions League titles which is the most by any other club besides Madrid who won 8. But now, we are in 2026, tbh outside of delusion I think it is hard for us to win the Champions League this year but by 2029, if we had not won the Champions League by then, then for sure we have to win it at home. By then, Pedri will be 26, Lamine will be 21, Cubarsi will be 22, Fermin will be 26, Joan Garcia will be 30 and Balde will be 26. Hopefully, we do win the Champions League by then but Imo in either case though, 2029 if it is held in Barcelona, should be won by us.
