Davo did a stream with Gaston Edul, who is incredibly reliable with Argentine players, and who Gaston thinks will go to the WC. A lot of things can change in 6 months, but this is the information that Gaston has currently.

Confirmed - 20 Players confirmed to go (which leaves 6 players to get the spot)
GK - Dibu (33), Rulli (34)
RB - Molina (28), Montiel (29)
CB - Romero (28), Lisandro (28), Otamendi (38)
LB - Taglafico (33)

RCM - RDP (32)
CDM - Enzo (25), Paredes (32)
LCM - MacAllister (27), Lo Celso (30)

RW - Giu Simeone (23)
CAM - Messi (39), Nico Paz (21)
ST - Alvarez (26), Lautaro (28)
LW - Almada (25), Nico Gonzalez (28)

Close to making to the WC squad
fighting for the 21st position (GK) - Benitez (33)
fighting for the 22nd position (CB) - Balerdi (27), Facundo Medina (27), Senesi (29)
fighting for the 23rd position (LB) - Valentin Barco (21), Acuna (34)
fighting for the 24th position (CM) - Exe Palacios (27)
fighting for the 25th position (Winger) - Mastantuono (18)
fighting for the 26th position (ST) - Jose Manu Lopez (25)

Low Chance
Garnacho, Dybala, Valentin Gomez, Matias Soule, Lautaro Rivero, Panichelli, Anselmino, A. Correa, Anibal Moreno, Barrenechea, Alan Varela, Equi Fernandez, Prestianni, Echeverri, Buendia, Giay

Gaston thinks that Dybala and Soule deserves a chance in the national team.

He thinks this is the starting XI
Almada (25)---------Alvarez (26)-------Messi (39)
-----------------MacA (27)-------RDP (32)
--------------------------Enzo (25)
Tagli (33)--L. Martinez (28)--Romero (28)--Molina (28)
--------------------E. Martinez (33)

I have no problem with the players who are confirmed to go. For the players fighting for the remaining 6 spots, as long as Acuna doesn't go, I'm fine with any although I do agree with the Youtube comments of what Mastantuono did to be higher considered than Soule. I would make the following changes for the remaining 6 players

21st - Benitez (33)
22nd - Anselmino (21)
23rd - Valentin Gomez (22)
24th - Equi Fernandez (23)
25th - Valentin Barco (21)
26th - Matias Soule (23)

The team will very likely make its base in Kansas City, which makes perfects sense seeing how the 1st is in Kansas and the 2nd and 3rd game is in Dallas which is only 2 hours away and in the same timezone. From sources, Kansas is better due to the heat in Dallas and there is less 'distraction' in Kansas.

The team also will have friendlies in June with Mexico and Honduras and will probably play in Las Vegas and Honduras

The more that I watch, the more that I think Nicolas Capaldo (27 yrs old) has to be in the World Cup squad. He has physicality, energy, intensity and pace and is very versatile. He can play CM, RM, RCB and more importantly, a RB. He's already the captain at Hamburg in his very first season in the Bundesliga so he also brings a lot of leadership too.

He can do the RDP role or fill in the RB position. Had a good game vs Bayern this past weekend.

I thought Argentina has Molina for RB?🧐

Molina is the starter.

Will see how Montiel does, but I'm sure he's the back up.

Capaldo can play in multiple position so he can play as the 3rd RB or even the 2nd RB depending on how he does for the rest of the season.

The problem with Molina is that he is not playing much at all for ATM which continues the trend of Simeone destroying Argentina's talent. I wanted him to leave ATM at least on loan this winter transfer window (and last year's summer window too), but the guy doesn't want to move. The RB position is the most concerning in the team imo.

He's very injury prone isn't he? shame because he's class.
Very, which is unfortunate as he is a player with a unique profile and he is definitely class.

One of the few left footed players who can combine well with Messi.

Hopefully, he doesn't rush to make the Finalissima and take his time (especially during the March international window) to recover well and prep for the World Cup
