Only because we don't have suitable high-line defenders, we shouldn't throw out a big pile of money for more. We're in no position to try out players at will and throw them away after a year like the PL clubs do. If we spend so much, then the club needs to make sure the player fits perfectly.

It could be that Flick doesn't want him because of their spell with Germany. If I remember correctly Nico wasn't so good in WC 2022. But he developed a lot since then and back then he was considered a bum more than a top defender

Didn’t say so either. Don’t care for Nico as I don’t trust Bundesliga players. It’s just a fun read considering the absolute disastrous state of our own defenders, where pace is the biggest weakness already. These same biased Catalan journalists won’t address and criticize that at all, but will publish fake news how that’s why we won’t be going for Nico when that’s actually one of the few things he excels at. I think most know the real reason.

It's clear we have problems with money before anything else, you can believe whatever the board says but reality is different. This winter we had Guehi available for peanuts and didn't sign him, when he would be a massive addition for second half of the season.
