Why are we considering selling Fermin? isn't he our top scorrer in CL this season? He has off games, granted, but is a really good asset for the team.
Let's sell someone we don't actually need.

Because he is a squad player that can fetch a decent amount. Easily replaceable.

You really don’t understand it. You cannot sell them, even for 0€. Because Nobody wants to pay the wages of Mats.
If you are trying to sell them to la liga bottom 10.

There are buyers who would pay for players with a name.

From time to time i watch Saudi League and i see plenty of other teams' deadweights playing there.

Why arent we doing the same?

The problem is that you think this is a game like EA FC 26.
A player who has a family in barcelona, a big contract and no incentive to leave will not leave to saudi arabia.
They just leave there if they get a significantly bigger contract in saudi.

Its not that he's easily replaceable or a squad player. Fermin & Olmo both arent an undisputed starter.
What Olmo lacks, Fermin brings in with bucket load. He is a valuable player. Has the chutzpah in him.

Having said that, he's the only one out of our squad who can fetch a decent/large sum while not impacting the team a whole lot. We have Olmo, and couple of players behind him to take up the spot. Especially Yamal & Roony.

Use the funds to buy LCB, backup CB and a fullback. This makes out squad 10times stronger than just having Fermin.
That said, I would rather let Olmo go than Fermin. But Olmo isn't going to fetch us more than 20m by the looks of it. And Fermin already had an offer last summer, and there were rumours of him considering it. If true, there might be high probability this summer the same might happen.

Its a myth Real are top at selling players dont want.

In recent years alone the likes of Bale, Hazard, Jovic, Diaz, Isco, Mariano Diaz, Vallejo have all been there on contacts they want to get rid of but couldnt.

Many many more before that.

If look at players selling at 20m+ that are bang average would say Barca have got more money in for those poorer squad players than Real have.

That is discounting the FFP transfers for Arthur, Cillesen etc.

I would say current Real are far better placed with assets they could sell for decent money as they rarely sign players that are older or wont have chance to renew/sell.

Can be sure as fuck Real would have Alaba and his reported 20m+ wage before now if they could.

Exactly.
Some guys here want us to be a selling team.

Find a good asset, keep it. Players like fermin, lamine, pedri are the present and the future.
Players like mats, lewa, olmo are not, and they are on high wages hencr need to be sold.

No guarantees that we would find replacement in the market at reasonable price.

Players like lamine, pedri and fermin?
Fermin does not even deserve to named along side them

Why Madrid successfully manages to sell most of their players, while we get screwed over has mostly 3 main reasons.

1. System players.

We have many players ideal for our system, especially the kids coming from La-Masia. But many clubs look for different strengths and skillsets.

2. We're broke

Every agent and their dog know, Barca is broke and can't afford to sit on players. The logical consequence is, nobody is offering us a good market price. Madrid on the other hand has the luxury to refuse transfers, if they don't like the fee, so they get bigger offers naturally.

3. We reward players too fast and sit on them for too long

The club gives out too big of contracts (or at least did) too fast. Best example for too fast was Fati. He was mostly hype when he received a star player contract. And we also give out too long contracts for players over 30 years old. We can only hope MAtS was the last one. Club de Amigos is a direct result of this bad policy. If a player reaches 30 years, we should offer a maximum of 2-3 years performance dependent contract and go from there. Lose the fear of losing 30 year old players, if they don't like it. Ter Stegen is on a 20m/y contract until 36. You wouldn't see this anywhere in a decently lead club.
I know part of the reason is, that he extended the contract to give the club ffp margin. But now it bites us in the ass again.

Spot on.

It is not spot on.

Real probably struggle to sell players running down contracts more than Barca do and dont get big sums for squad players,

Would say Barca sold more squad players for decent fees and lower level players than Real have.
