He is a talent. Nothing more, nothing less.

He shouldn't start for a club like Barça so easily because currently it isn't justified by performances but by lack of options.

The fact he has the second highest market value together with Bastoni tells you that things go way overboard with young players.

That market value is useless. Ansu Fati had 100m at some point. Nobody is ever gonna offer more than 25-30m for Cubarsi. If we are lucky.

Come on man that's completely exaggerated. There are lots of clubs that would be willing to pay 50m or more for him. And that's the bare minimum. I would never consider selling him in the near future though. He is an exceptional talent and will hopefully develop into a world class centre-back in the coming years.

Nobody would. He has not more defensive quality than martin. If we could sell him for 30+, it would be a very smart move. But I still hope he will improve, that is why he has a value.

I have more hope in Araujo.

Season 2021/22 of Araujo was top 5 cb' in the world.

Doubt Cubarsi can be close to that.

He is just not big, tall, fast and has some terrible decisions sometimes.

Two things can be true

He is playing at a shit level

He has been overplayed. He is not talent on Yamal's level, as we thought before giving him starting position, and his position also requires much more experience and responsibility

Throwing him in as a starter at 17 year old was a mistake. Especially with this crazy system. Now everything is messed up and he has visible problems playing at top level

We will see if he can recover from this and become a top player. Personally I believe the talent is there

I don't have an issue with him as a squad player. In an ideal world, we sign 2 CBs, Garcia is 3rd option, Cubarsi is 4th option. Martin and Araujo get sold for whatever they can fetch.

I will never judge him too harshly. He's 18 in a gung-ho all out attack team with teammates who can't defend any better than him to provide him some guidance. At his age Thiago Silva transfered from Brazil to Porto, got put in their B team, got transfered to Russia, transfered back to Brazil and came back to Europe at 25 and only then was recognized as a top defender at Milan. Defenders don't start for CL aspiring clubs at 17/18. Even Varane only got proper minutes at 21 and he was the earliest blooming CB talent at a big club I have ever seen.

In about 3 years we can start to analyse.

I don't know for Garcia. He has developed a lot and is very reliable right now. Hard to imagine club will sign another CB instead of trusting him

He was pretty good against PSG and Madrid too, it's not just shit teams. Until he does something to lose Flick's trust, hard to imagine a future without Eric as starter at CB

When we get new CBs it will also help him mentally and physically. Seemed like Inigo guided him a lot on the fly last season and this season he has had to be the veteran in defence and he just isn't ready for that yet.

Like others have said he shouldn't be judged as a lost cause until his mid-20s.

His build up is extremely good but he lacks pace. In other areas he is pretty good for his age. I think he can become very useful with a fast CB next to him. I personally hate slow CBs in our system where like two thirds of our team are in the opponent's half and the CBs are quite often left alone. If the offside trap fails, you need people who can catch up. The only CB in the team who can do this is Araujo.
