No hope needed honestly. You can’t be a billionaire’s toy and have sporting ambition at same time

A 12th coach will be named in the 13 years post-Fergie, they are a mess and cannot course correct towards sporting success by simply throwing money at it

Manchester Cheaty says .

I despise them as much as everyone else here but they really are a great manager and great SD away from being back. They've not had either since Fergie left.

When you have limitless pots of cash it's only really a matter of time. People said that Qsg would never win the Champions League and look what happened.

It's an absolute miracle they have been as shite as they have after spending 2 billion in the last decade.

I totally disagree. Their problems run far, far deeper than that. They literally cannot play possession football as they're a 90s kick and run counter attack club playing in the year 2026.

I don't think Pep could fix them.

City are City precisely because they have run themselves as Barça-lite, not simply as a billionaire’s toy. Look what happened when the Qataris stopped with the United Way and actually got a coach and rid themselves of prima donnas

A billionaire like the Yank in Chelsea runs it like an American franchise throwing money left & right, ManYoo are led by Yank speculators who rinsed their debts with ManYoo’s marketing dominance and realized they don’t have to do anything sporting wise than tread water. Fans can do what they like but the billionaires are still making their money

At least Inter for example while run by a distressed debt fund is gearing up for a sale to a billionaire even though Oaktree is not interested in the sporting side of football - they look to make a profit, not win trophies

So where does that leave ManYoo? They don’t have a billionaire ownership that is interested in trophies, only money and normally you’d need to be successful to continue it…unless you are a marketing behemoth that will churn revenue even when treading water as they have for 13 years now

City, of course, will be derailed once Pep and any of the rest of the Barça management exit and they too will eventually suffer

This is true. They started winning trophies when Mancini was there, and Pellegrini continued it. They were the best team in England but nowhere near the force of nature they've been under Pep playing 'the Barca way'. Once Pep and the Barca influence leaves they'll go back to 'just another good team' rather than the dominating force that won 4 in a row, got 100 points etc.

If Xavi doesn't get the job, then he might have to lower his standards. Bayern, Chelsea and Manu jobs were available since he left and he didn't get any of them. Unless he wants to do a Zidane and to be Flick's replacement.

English clubs will stay loyal to a manager for a year or more longer than they should, but the second they talk shit about the people above them they're dead men walking.

It happens everywhere tbf, same happened with Xavi and Zidane in Spain. Flick in Bayern and even Nagelsmann to a lesser extent. Conte everywhere.

Plenty of coaches today don't want to just coach, but to be the SD or the bosses of the SD. And when things go south they start feeling that they are paying for someone else mistakes. It builds resentment tbh.

Arsenal is the only one who put up with Arteta's bs. I wonder if they did the same with Emery.

Baffling as to why they sacked him now. I think he had them on their highest position for a while. If they wanted to pull the plug they should have done it last season.
The way the club is run actually makes us look professional. 🤣
Also the amount of money spent in useless players is just.......no words.
Total clown show.

Well, at least our sporting department makes up a bit for the ineptness of our financial one. Yes we bitch about them, but with no money and compared to United's ones, they are rocket scientists.

United is just inept from top to bottom. Actually at this point it makes me wonder if Ferguson was the only person there who knew what it takes to be a top club. Because as soon as he retired, all of that dissappeared.
